It is January and that means that it is time for the PCA, one of the most highly anticipated poker festivals, offering millions of dollars in prize pools and excitement that cannot be found anywhere else. But apart from it, the first week of the month will bring players other interesting opportunities to play and win some money. Here is a little more information about the tournaments that are set to begin in the week between January 4-10.
EPT Season 12/ PokerStars Caribbean Adventure
It is that time of the year when players from all around the world gather together at Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas for one of the most exciting poker festivals to take place throughout the next 12 months. The tournament is to start on January 6 and will feature 94 different events with buy-ins starting from $120 to $100,000 for the three-day No-Limit Hold’em 8-Max High Roller event, which is scheduled to kick off on January 6.
The $5,300 PCA Main Event is to take place between January 8-13 and will feature two starting flights and four more days of play.
2016 Lucky Hearts Poker Open
Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood would play host to the tournament from January 7 to January 20. Players will have the chance to enter 30 different events with guaranteed prize pools of up to $1 million. Buy-ins for those vary from $130 to $2,650 for the two-day No-Limit Hold’em with a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000.
The $1,100 Main Event is scheduled to take place on January 14-18 and will feature a guaranteed prize pool of $1 million. The five-day $350 No-Limit Hold’em with a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000 is yet another exciting event worth entering.
2015/2016 WSOP Circuit – Choctaw
Choctaw Casino Resort will play host to the first WSOP Circuit festival of the year. The tournament will start on January 7 and will run through January 18. It will feature a total of 15 different events, of which 12 will award gold rings to the winners. Buy-ins for the events vary from $250 to $1,675 for the four-day Main Event, starting January 15.
2016 Million Dollar Heater
The tournament will take place at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi from January 8 to January 20. Players will be given the opportunity to enter 16 different No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha events, with two of them featuring guaranteed prize pools of $500,000. Buy-ins for the events start from $245 to $3,200 for the Main Event. It will kick off on January 16 and it will take four days of play before the name of the champion is clear.
2016 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship
Delaware Park in Wilmington, Delaware will play host to a thrilling Pot-Limit Omaha Championship. The tournament will take place on January 9-10 and everyone interested to enter it will have to pay a buy-in fee of $1,500.
