This year’s edition of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure is scheduled to kick off today at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau, the Bahamas with the $100,000 Super High Roller as its opening event. The event is to start at 12:00 local time and will run through January 8. The high roller tournament is among the most highly anticipated events of the year as it annually gathers together some of the world’s biggest poker stars and awards millions of dollars in prize money.

Last year, it drew a record field of 66 entries, of whom 50 unique ones and 16 re-entries. And this year, the event is expected to attract even greater attention. A few days ago, poker pro Daniel Negreanu confirmed that he would enter the event and that he is determined to reach its final table and why not top its field.

Apart from the Canadian player, there are other poker professionals that are expected to be seen at the tables of the $100,000 Super High Roller. For instance, Irish player Steve O’Dwyer, who has been a frequent entry in a number of high roller events over the past year or so, is among those expected to join the roster of poker stars at the Atlantis Resort. Here it is important to note that last year, O’Dwyer bested the field of the PCA $100,000 Super High Roller for $1,872,580. This is why the player will likely be there striving for a back-to-back title.

Fedor Holz, who recently won not one but two high roller tournaments, is also a likely participant in the PCA one. Two days ago, the player emerged victorious in the inaugural WPT National Philippines $200,000 Triton Super High Roller to collect a first-place prize of $3,463,500. Late in December, the player also won the WPT Alpha8 Las Vegas with a $100,000 buy-in and was awarded the amount of $1,589,219 for his triumph. Holz will most certainly be among the most closely watched players, if he decided to take part in the PCA Super High Roller event.

Poker pros Bryn Kenney, Sorel Mizzi, Fabian Quoss, Vanessa Selbst, and Scott Seiver have also been seen at the tables of the prestigious event over the years and are expected to join fellow players from around the world for its sixth edition.

It is also interesting to note that Jason Somerville, the player who is also known to be the most popular streamer of poker-related content on Twitch, will be covering the PCA Super High Roller and the PCA $5,200 Main Event. Somerville’s Twitch channel has more than 147,000 followers and 9 million unique views. However, the player will be broadcasting on PokerStars’ channel together with other prominent commentators.
