Ohio Casinos Post Increase in Full-Year Revenue

The Ohio Casino Control Commission posted on Thursday information about the financial performance of the state’s four casinos in December and in 2015 as a whole. The gambling venues generated December revenue of $71.6 million, up from the $70.7 million reported for the same month a year ago.

Last month, the state’s casinos featured 7,980 slot machines and 440 table games. Revenue from slots amounted to $46.6 million and table games generated a total of $25 million.

Overall, Ohio’s four fully-fledged gambling venues posted revenue of $812.3 million for 2015, up from the $809.3 million reported for 2014. Revenue from slot machines totaled $550 million and table games contributed $262.3 million to the overall figure.

Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati generated a total of $17.7 million last month. In comparison, it posted revenue of $17.1 million for December 2014. Last month, the venue featured 1,988 slot machines and 122 table games. Slots generated $10.6 million and table games generated $7.1 million in December. In 2015, revenue at the casino amounted to $196.5 million compared to $197.8 million in 2014.

Revenue at Horseshoe Casino Cleveland totaled $18.8 million in December, down from the $21.3 million posted for the same month a year ago. In December 2015, the gambling venue featured 1,668 slot machines and those generated $10.3 million. Revenue from table games amounted to $8.6 million. The casino offered a total of 125 of those in December. Overall, Horseshoe Casino Cleveland generated full-year revenue of $212.7 million. In comparison, the amount of $220.4 million was posted for 2014.

Hollywood Casino Columbus reported revenue of $18.3 million for December, compared to $17.3 million for the same month of 2014. Last month, the venue operated 2,274 slot machines and those contributed $12.2 million to the overall figure. There were also 114 table games at the casino and those generated the amount of $6.1 million. Full-year revenue at Hollywood Casino Columbus totaled $210.3 million, up from the $207.8 million reported for 2014.

Last but not least, Hollywood Toledo posted December revenue of $16.8 million, compared to $15.1 million generated at the venue in December 2014. Last month, it featured 2,050 slot machines, with revenue from those totaling $13.5 million, and 79 table games that generated a total of $3.3 million. Full-year revenue amounted to $192.8 million, up from the $183.3 million reported for 2014.

Statewide, revenue from all four casinos and seven racinos amounted to $1.64 billion in 2015.
