Developer of B2B mobile gambling content NEKTAN plc announced earlier today that certain directorial changes are to take place at the company. It was revealed that current CEO David Gosen is to leave his post. His resignation is to become effective as of the end of January. Mr. Gosen said that he has taken that decision in order to be able to explore new business opportunities.
Gary Shaw, who is currently taking the post of Executive Chairman of the gaming developer, would be appointed as interim CEO until the company’s Board finds a permanent appointment.
NEKTAN also announced today that Jim Wilkinson, currently an independent Non-Executive Director at the company, is to take the position of its new Non-Executive Chairman. Mr. Wilkinson is Chief Financial Officer of Oxford Sciences and had previously taken the role of Chief Financial Officer of Sportingbet Plc.
Commenting on the upcoming directorial changes, Mr. Shaw said that all members of NEKTAN’s team are thankful for the progress the company has achieved over the past 12 months while being led by Mr. Gosen. Mr. Shaw further noted that the developer’s continuing growth was indicative of the solid building blocks established during its latest CEO’s tenure.
NEKTAN’s interim CEO also pointed out that he is delighted with Mr. Wilkinson’s appointment as Non-Executive Chairman of the company as he has always been a highly valued Board member. Mr. Shaw said that they are all looking forward to continuing to work with Mr. Wilkinson in his new post and to taking the mobile gaming supplier to the next stage of its development, thus securing its further strong growth.
In 2015, the developer of mobile casino games and gaming platforms reported revenue of £528,000 for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2015 as compared to £1.87 million posted for the same period of the previous year. The company also generated EBITDA loss of £5.1 million compared to £3.5 million in 2014. Although it posted drops in its key performance indicators, NEKTAN said that it was content with the results and that it was confident in the outlook for this financial year as the developer has already registered a strong growth in several key European markets.
