Nevada-based gambling operator Boyd Gaming Corporation announced earlier today that Steve Thompson, Ted Bogich, and Josh Hirsberg would be promoted to Executive Vice Presidents. All three previously took the positions of Senior Vice Presidents at the casino company. Their appointment has become effective immediately.

The three executives will continue reporting directly to Boyd Gaming President and CEO Keith Smith. Commenting on the latest announcement, Mr. Smith said in a release that they have all played important roles in effectively guiding the gambling operator through the challenging times it has faced over the past several years and in returning it to a “strong, sustained growth.” He further added that they are all looking forward to leveraging both their talent and experience for the company’s further development and growth.

Mr. Thompson joined Boyd Gaming back in 1983. Since then, he has taken a number of executive positions at the Nevada-headquartered gambling company, including Senior Vice President, Operations for its Nevada region. Being Executive Vice President, Operations, Mr. Thompson will still be in charge of the company’s Nevada operations as well as of several corporate functions, with Administration, Procurement, and Slot Operations being among those.

Since joining Boyd Gaming in 2004, Mr. Bogich has taken numerous important roles at the company. Prior to his promotion, he was overseeing five gambling properties in Kansas, Louisiana, Indiana, and Illinois as Senior Vice President, Operations. While on his new post, Mr. Bogich would be in charge of the operator’s Midwest and South as well as Peninsula regions in Mississippi, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa. The executive will also assume responsibility for Boyd Gaming’s Design, Construction, and Corporate Marketing operations.

Last but not least, Mr. Hirsberg joined the gambling company in 2008 as its Senior Vice President, Treasurer, and Chief Financial Officer. Being promoted to Executive Vice President, he will retain his posts as Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer and will continue being responsible for Boyd Gaming’s financial operations, with accounting, budgeting, planning, financing, and investor relations being only few of those.

Founded in 1975 and headquartered in Las Vegas, Nevada, the gambling company currently manages 22 casino and entertainment venues in Nevada, New Jersey, Mississippi, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Louisiana, and Kansas.
