The 2015/2016 World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Tunica Main Event has just finished. It attracted a total of 646 players who created a prize pool of $969,000.

Avid poker fans have always considered the tournament an exciting event and this year, it attracted 189 more players as compared to last year’s number of entrants.

At the end, it was David Kruger who emerged victorious and captured the amount of $198,657 of the accumulated prize pool. In addition, the 54-year-old manager of a waste company in Missouri secured himself a seat into the WSOP Global Casino Championship and received the first circuit ring in his poker career.

David Kruger has been playing poker for quite some time and he can take pride in having demonstrated excellent skills in as many as 11 money finishes on the WSOP Circuit. He also made it to the final table five times.

Kruger’s lifetime poker earnings amount to $553,497. Before the World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Tunica accomplishment, his greatest achievement was his participation in the 2009 Spring Poker Classic Championship where he captured $100,287 for his efforts. He also finished 33rd in the EPT4 Grand Final and received as much as $60,129 of the accumulated prize pool. The fourth position in the 2008 Aussie Millions Bounty Event secured him $36,427.

During the heads- up play Kruger doubled into the lead. He made a six-high straight flush as he was holding [2c] [3c]. The final hand of the tournament occurred in Level 32.

Head raised to 300,000 and moved all in for 3.5 million. Then, Kruger snap-called as he was holding [Ah] [As]

and Head was holding [8s] [8c]. The game could have gone in a different direction if Head had an eight. However, the board ran out a clean [Js] [6h] [5s] [5h] [10c]

and Head had to content himself with the runner-up position.

Matthew Lawrence occupied the third position and captured $90,156 for his efforts. Jeremy Drewery and Ryan Tepen were sent to 4th and 5th position, respectively. The other notable finishes were those of Chris Trotter, Orlando Romero, Ben Thomas and Christian Rodriguez.
