WSOP International Circuit Arrives at Tbilisi Sports Palace, Georgia on March 3

Events & Reports

The 2015/16 WSOP International Circuit: Georgia is less than a month away. WSOP has never been in that part of the world before but it all shows that quite an exciting poker tournament is to take place. The WSOP International Circuit will be at the Tbilisi Sports Palace from March 3-9.

The Circuit’s first-ever visit to Georgia is the result from a partnership between the WSOP and Adjarabet – one of the country’s largest online gambling operators.

The upcoming poker festival, which will likely be the largest one ever held in that part of the world, will feature as many as 19 different tournaments with overall guaranteed prize pools of $700,000. Here it is also important to note that no other poker festival that has ever taken place in the region has featured such a large amount of prize money.

Of all the events, 7 will be gold ring ones. And quite understandably, the $1,100 Main Event with a guaranteed prize pool of $300,000 is considered the highlight on the festival’s schedule. It is slated to run from March 6-9. The $100,000 guaranteed $330 Adjarabet Championship running from March 4-6 is yet another marquee event worth mentioning.

The 2015/16 WSOP International Circuit: Georgia’s schedule also includes an opening $110 No-Limit Hold’em Warm-up event with a guaranteed prize pool of $30,000. The event will be a two-day one. In addition, there will be two $50,000 guaranteed No-Limit Hold’em events – a Blowout one and a High Roller one. They will both kick off on March 8 and will be two-day ones. Buy-ins amount to $110 for the first and $2,200 for the latter.

A two-day $220 Pot-Limit Omaha with a guaranteed prize pool of $15,000, scheduled for March 5, and a one-day $110 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo, which is to take place on March 7, are also among the 7 gold ring events.

Commenting on the upcoming WSOP International Circuit poker festival, WSOP Director Gregory Chochon has previously said that they were all excited about WSOP’s continued expansion and the opportunity to hold an event “at the cross-roads between Europe and Asia.”

Adjarabet Chief Marketing Officer Lasha Machavariani has pointed out that the fact a WSOP International Circuit festival would be held in Georgia was indicative of how much the game of poker “has grown in the country.” Mr. Machavariani has further noted that they were looking forward to welcoming players from around the world and showcasing the famous Georgian hospitality.
