Simon Trim Steps In as Sporting Index CEO

News

London-based sports spread betting company Sporting Index Group announced today the appointment of Simon Trim as its new CEO. Mr. Trim is to succeed Warren Murphy, who announced that he would resign from his post last month.

Mr. Murphy has spent the past seven years as chief executive of the sports betting company. Among other things, he has led the gambling operator through a transition process related to an ownership change.

As for Mr. Trim, he joined Sporting Index back in 1998 and has been taking the position of Managing Director for Sporting Solutions, known to be the company’s division for B2B trading services, since the end of 2011.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Trim said that he is extremely happy to be taking the role of group CEO at the company. The official further noted that Sporting Index has long been “a quite powerhouse” within the international gambling industry and has been providing betting customers with a differentiated product. Through Sporting Solutions, the company has underpinned a great portion of its recent in-play growth in the market.

Mr. Trim further noted that the gambling operator currently is in the best possible shape for keeping on maximizing its market opportunities and said that he is proud of being chosen as the right person to take it forward.

Generally speaking, Sporting Index specializes in the provision of sports spread betting options both within the UK and internationally. The company is based in London and now employs about 220 people. It is currently known to be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, sports spread betting businesses in the world. It has been estimated that the sports betting operator holds a 70% market share in the UK.

Late last year, Sporting Index launched a new mobile website so as to provide its customers with the best possible experience across all available devices. Among other things, the site makes it possible for players to access their personal preferences as it synchronizes with its desktop version. Apart from the mobile website, the betting operator also launched a revamped version of its desktop website earlier in 2015. The company has promised that it would keep on introducing exciting new features in 2016, as well.
