Provider of solutions for the betting and gaming industry OpenBet has signed an agreement with the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, under the terms of which the company is to provide the corporation’s PlayNow gambling site with Sports Pools, an innovative product aimed at players with less knowledge of sports betting odds.

OpenBet has been working with the BCLC since June 2010, when the latter first introduced its online gambling offering. BCLC was, in fact, the first Canadian gaming corporation to launch an online casino. The said gambling website was powered by OpenBet’s gaming platform and centralized Player Account Management solution. Over the past six years, the software developer and the gaming corporation have developed their partnership through the creation and addition of new games such as the above-mentioned Sports Pools.

Generally speaking, Sports Pools is an online gambling product aimed at engaging the attention of different types of gambling customers without requiring those to have any comprehensive knowledge of sports betting odds. OpenBet’s Sports Pools will be the first product of its kind to be launched by a Canadian gambling website.

Commenting on the upcoming launch, Jeremy Thompson-Hill, CEO of OpenBet, said that they are all delighted with their continued partnership with the BCLC. Mr. Thompson-Hill further noted that they have always strived to provide gambling customers with the best possible experience and numerous entertaining ways to play. As for Sports Pools, in particular, the executive said that it is a great new gaming product that OpenBet has been pleased to develop with and for the BCLC.

Monica Bohm, BCLC Vice President eGaming, said that through the Sports Pools product, they will offer their players an easy and innovative introduction to the world of sports betting, one that will probably be found fun and appealing. Ms. Bohm added that the launch of the new offering is yet another proof that BCLC and its online PlayNow brand have always tried to deliver innovative gaming content to British Columbia residents and to help communities across the province at the same time.

Each year, the gambling corporation contributes more than C$1 billion from the revenue generated by gaming operations to various charitable and provincial causes across British Columbia.
