Online gambling operator Mr Green Ltd. announced today that Jesper Kärrbrink has assumed the post of the company’s new CEO. Mr. Kärrbrink is replacing Bo Wänghammar, who will be working within the business development department of the Mr Green Group.
Mr Green Ltd. is known to be the Malta-based online casino division of Swedish gambling operator Mr Green & Co AB. Being headquartered there, the company is licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority.
Commenting on the news about his appointment, Mr. Kärrbrink said that he is very excited to be back in the gambling industry and to be working with one of the “strongest brands” within the online gambling sector. The executive also pointed out that he is glad to be given the chance to develop its international product offering and to further strengthen the company’s position.
Most recently, Mr. Kärrbrink took the position of EuroFlorist AB CEO and Executive Vice Chairman. He assumed post in August 2011 and spent more than four years at the major independent network for flower distribution. During his tenure, the company reported a 30% growth in online sales.
He is currently a board member of the said company as well as of Wallvision AB and Carpet Vista AB. Mr Green’s new CEO also has previous media experience. He took the position of Head of Bonnier’s digital operations in the late 1990s. As mentioned above, Mr. Kärrbrink has a previous experience within the gambling industry. He was President and CEO of Svenska Spel, Sweden’s state-owned gambling operator, in the period between 2004 and 2008. Following his departure from the major gaming company, Kärrbrink joined Nordic search services company Eniro as its President and CEO.
Per Norman, CEO of parent company Mr Green & Co AB, commented that they are extremely pleased with Mr. Kärrbrink’s appointment as he is a seasoned leader with considerable experience in the gambling industry, both online and land-based. Mr. Norman further noted that he believes Mr Green Ltd.’s new CEO will have a strong focus on the online casino company’s further growth in the market and the development of its catalog of product offering.
