Online gambling operator Sky Betting & Gaming will be the headline sponsor of the upcoming Summer Spring Series to be held at the Royal Windsor Racecourse, officials for Arena Racing Company and the racecourse announced today.

Nine qualifying races will take place within the SkyBet Summer Sprint Series, with those being run over five and six furlongs, respectively. Each of the races is worth no less than £10,000. The final is set for August 15 and will be run over six furlongs. The SkyBet Summer Sprint Series Final will be worth a total of £75,000.

Commenting on SkyBet being selected as a headline sponsor, Arena Racing Company Head of Partnerships David Leyden Dunbar said that they are extremely happy to welcome the gambling operator on board and that it is fantastic to be working together on the upcoming event. Mr. Dunbar further noted that the company already has a strong relationship with SkyBet as the latter is also a sponsor at Doncaster.

Royal Windsor Racecourse Executive Director Stuart Dorn said that they are thankful to the gambling operator for sponsoring the Summer Spring Series, with the new series representing “a real uplift” in the racecourse’s program.

Michael Shinners, Racing PR Manager for Sky Betting & Gaming, commented that they are delighted with the opportunity to sponsor at the Royal Windsor Racecourse and are extremely excited about the upcoming SkyBet Summer Sprint Series. Mr. Shinners further noted that Monday night racing events at that particular racecourse are extremely popular among their customers.

The first qualifying race is set to take place today, May 9, at the Royal Windsor Racecourse.

Earlier this year, Sky Betting & Gaming became an Authorised Betting Partner to the British horse racing industry. The online gambling operator signed a three-year agreement with the British Horseracing Authority. The deal became effective on April 1 and under its terms, SkyBet would contribute a portion of the revenue generated from online horse racing bets over the next three years. The company will enjoy certain benefits, including exposure at certain major racecourses across the United Kingdom, in exchange for its support to the country’s horse racing industry.
