
Revenue from brick-and-mortar casino operations increased 6.3% year-on-year to $198 million. In comparison, the amount of $186.3 million was generated in April 2015. Internet gambling brought in a total of $17 million last month, representing a 33.8% rise. The considerable increase in revenue generated from online gaming was mainly attributed to the recent launch of the PokerStars NJ website. The world’s biggest poker room went live in the state with Resorts Casino Hotel and its digital arm in March.
Of all eight casinos operating in Atlantic City, two posted a decrease in their revenues last month – Harrah’s and Trump Taj Mahal. Harrah’s generated a total of $29.1 million, down 1.1% year-on-year. As for Trump Taj Mahal, it posted monthly revenue of $15 million, down 4% as compared to the $15.8 million generated during the same month of the previous year.
Bally’s AC reported the amount of $18.1 million for April. Revenue at the gambling venue increased 12.2% year-on-year. The Borgata generated almost $60 million last month, up 4.2%. Caesars posted a 9.7% increase in revenue to $24.7 million. The casino’s online gambling division, Caesars Interactive NJ, generated the amount of $3.2 million, up 28.8%.
Revenue at Golden Nugget totaled $20 million and increased 13.3% year-on-year. Land-based casino operations contributed $16.7 million to the overall figure. Internet gambling options offered by the venue generated a total of $3.3 million.
Resorts reported revenue of $13.9 million in April, up 14% year-on-year. Its digital division generated the amount of $3.5 million. Last but not least, revenue at Tropicana rose 9.5% year-on-year to reach $27.7 million. Land-based casino options generated $24.6 million and Internet operations contributed $3.1 million last month.
Atlantic City’s eight casinos generated a total of $812.8 million in the first four months of the year, up 4.4% as compared to the figures posted for the same period a year ago. Land-based gaming contributed $751 million, up 2.7% year-on-year, and revenue from Internet gambling totaled $61.9 million, reflecting a 29.3% increase.
