Andrew Jankowski Wins partypoker WPT National UK $1,100 Main Event

Andrew Jankowski was the player to win the partypoker WPT National UK $1,100 Main Event and to scoop the largest share of the prize pool. The player collected $195,210 for his victory. It is interesting to note that Jankowski had previously had only two live tournament cashes and that he had won his seat into the latest WPT National stop Main Event by taking part into a one-cent qualifier.

Dusk Till Dawn Poker & Casino Nottingham played host to the latest WPT National poker festival. As for the Main Event itself, it took place from May 19-23 and attracted as many as 886 participants. The top 98 finishers received a share of the entire prize pool. The lowest payout totaled $1,954. As for the champion, he took home nearly $200,000, which included a seat into the partypoker WPT UK Main Tour £2,200 Main Event, and the tournament trophy.

The partypoker WPT National UK $1,100 Main Event’s final day was played on May 23 and kicked off with 38 survivors returning to win a seat into the nine-handed final table and to try to become the last person to be standing. Each of the nine finalists was guaranteed a minimum cash of $18,396.

The heads-up play between Jankowski and Daniel Tang lasted one hand only. Following a flop of [8h][3d][6d], the eventual champion went all in with [As][2c] against his opponent’s [10h][8c]. Making a top pair, Tang called. However, an ace appeared on the turn and gave Jankowski a serious advantage. The river was blank and the name of the champion became clear. Tang collected the total amount of $130,263 for his second-place finish.
