Loto-Québec Extends Partnership with OpenBet

News

Developer and provider of online gaming and sports betting solutions OpenBet announced today that it has extended its existing partnership with Loto-Québec, known to be the lottery operator of the Canadian province of Quebec.

Under the terms of the deal, the long-standing relationship between the two entities would be extended by three more years and OpenBet would power the provincial lottery’s latest mobile product.

Loto-Québec explained that it has opted for OpenBet’s services and for the opportunity to extend its existing partnership with the gaming provider as system flexibility and delivery are two of the features it is best known for, together with its operational teams and their proficiency in the provision of omni-channel products.

OpenBet has been offering its lottery solution to Loto-Québec since 2010. Quebec’s lottery provider is not the only public body to be working with the popular developer and supplier of product offering for the international online gambling industry. The British Columbia Lottery Corp., Danske Spil, known to be Denmark’s national gambling operator and regulator, and Singapore Pools are several other such customers working with OpenBet.

Commenting on the latest announcement, Luc Morin, General Manager of Loto-Québec’s online gaming brand Espacejeux, described OpenBet as the clear choice for them to introduce their mobile casino to the gaming market. Mr. Morin put an emphasis on the supplier’s “omni-channel vision and long-term strategy.”

Extending their existing partnership with OpenBet would allow Loto-Québec to connect its mobile offering with the other products in its product portfolio, thus maximizing customer experience across all channels, the official added.

Jeremy Thompson-Hill, CEO of OpenBet, said that the extended partnership is indicative of OpenBet’s reputation as a supplier that is considered extremely compliant and trusted among international customers. The executive further commented that they are happy to be developing their long-standing relationship with the gaming institution despite the negative effects of the regulatory changes implemented in the province over the past several years.

Mr. Thompson-Hill also pointed out that omni-channel development and distribution is central to their strategy and that the launch of the new mobile portal could be considered “a fantastic development.”

Last month, it was announced that OpenBet would be acquired by fellow developer and supplier of online gaming solutions NYX Gaming, with the latter paying the amount of £270 million. The deal was closed on May 20.
