Karl Held Ends WSOP $1,000 Top Up Turbo No-Limit Hold’em Day 1 as Chip Leader

Day 1 of Event #4: $1,000 Top Up Turbo No-Limit Hold’em has concluded and Karl Held emerged as a chip leader holding 1,175,000 chips. The event attracted a total of 667 entrants who accumulated a prize pool of $681,300. As many as 101 players were paid for their participation in the event.

Unfortunately, some big names in the poker industry could not survive the day and were sent home without any financial reward for taking part in Event #4: $1000 Top Up Turbo No-Limit Hold’em. Some of those eliminated before the money bubble were Shaun Deeb, Ryan Riess, Antonio Esfandiari, Joe Kuether, Dominik Nitsche, Matt Matros.

Some of the notable names who cashed include Andy Bloch, who occupied the 26th place. The United Kingdom player Liv Boeree was also eliminated on 29th position and got $3,277 for her efforts. David Williams, Eric Baldwin, Ronnie Bardah, Leo Wolpert and Chino Rheem occupied 43rd, 52nd, 58th, 62nd and 67th place, respectively.

Moshin Charania could not make it to the final table as he was eliminated by Bart Lybaert and sent to the 10th place. Charania scooped $7,404 of the accumulated prize pool and his elimination cast light on the final table.

Ben Yu, last year’s $10,000 Limit Hold’em event winner, is seeking yet another recognition. Kyle Julius, who will be occupying Seat 5 on the final table is holding 530,000 chips and he will be looking for his first WSOP bracelet. Back in 2012, Julius became a runner-up in the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em event. Vinny Pahuja, who has multiple WSOP cashes in the past, also made it to the final table with 310,000 chips.

The other players who form the final table are Nitis Udornpim, Christian Blech, Hugo Perez, George Dolofan. Nitis Udornpim is holding 435,000 chips and is going to occupy Seat 9. Christian Blech made it to the final table with 315,000 chips. Hugo Perez is not far behind the leader Held with 1,065,000 chips. George Dolofan who will be seated on Seat 8 holds 160,000 chips.

The first player to be eliminated will scoop the guaranteed amount of $9,506. As for the other 8, all of them will have a chance to receive the appealing top prize of $142,972 and the gold bracelet. The runner-up will be eligible for receiving $88,328. The bronze medallist will take home $61,137.

The play resumes today at 12 pm and will play down to a winner.
