Viatcheslav Ortynskiy Wins 2016 WSOP $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Six-Handed

Viatcheslav Ortynskiy from Krasnoyarsky, Russia was the player to emerge victorious in the 2016 WSOP $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Six-Handed event. He collected his biggest WSOP-related cash of $344,327 and his first gold bracelet.

Ortynskiy is mainly an online poker player. However, he often plays at live tournaments around Europe. For instance, the Russian is an European Poker Tour regular. As for his performance in the WSOP, the player has cashed in a total of 9 events over the past several years, making 4 final table appearances.

Ortynskiy bested a field of 580 entries. The six-handed final table was compiled of both poker amateurs and professionals. Randy Ohel, a one-time gold bracelet winner with 24 WSOP career cashes, was its headliner. Eventually, the player finished 3rd in the $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament.

A prize pool of $1,583,400 was generated and the top 87 finishers stopped at the payout desk to receive their share of the money. Lowest payouts amounted to $4,573. Each of the six finalists were guaranteed a minimum payout of $46,727.

Matthew Humphrey from Avon, Indiana collected the amount of $95,623 for finishing 4th in the tournament. George Wolff from Portland, Oregon took 5th place to be paid $66,134. Joshua Gibson from Fort Myers, Florida was the player to round out the official six-handed final table. His share of the prize pool amounted to $46,727.
