Maryland Lottery and Gaming, known to be the gaming regulator for the state of Maryland, posted on Wednesday information about the financial performance of the state’s five operational casinos in June. Statewide revenue amounted to $93.4 million, reflecting a 2.1% increase as compared to the figure reported for June 2015.
As already mentioned, there are five casinos to be operating within Maryland’s borders. Of these, four are offering both slot machines and table games and one is operating slot machines only. Tax revenue from local casinos is contributed to the Maryland Education Trust Fund as well as to minority- and women-owned, and small businesses across the state. The horse racing industry also receives a portion of the revenue generated.
Revenue at Hollywood Casino Perryville totaled $6 million in June, down 7% year-on-year. Last month, the gambling venue operated 850 slot machines, 12 banking table games and 10 non-banking ones. Slot machines generated daily gross gaming revenue of $200.63 per unit. Banking table games generated $2,147.88 and non-banking ones contributed $311.06 per unit per day.
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore posted monthly revenue of $24.4 million in June, up 5.9% from the same month of 2015. The casino offered 2,202 slot machines, 153 banking and 25 non-banking table games last month. Daily gross gaming revenue per unit per day amounted to $204.95 for slots, $2,224.01 for banking, and $897.88 for non-banking table games.
Maryland Live! Casino, known to be the state’s largest gambling venue, posted revenue of $53.7 million in June, reflecting an increase of 1.5% as compared to the figure reported for June 2015. The gambling facility featured 3,923 slot machines, 154 banking table games and 52 non-banking ones last month. Slots generated gross gaming revenue of $270.55 per unit per day. Average daily revenue from banking table games amounted to $4,338.25 per unit. Non-banking table games daily generated an average of $1,100.01 per unit.
Revenue at Rocky Gap Casino Resort in Flintstone totaled $4.2 million last month, up 12.6% year-on-year. The casino operated 634 slot machines and 18 banking table games in June. Gross gaming revenue per unit per day amounted to $194.13 for slots and $858.09 for table games.
Casino at Ocean Downs, a racino located in Berlin, Maryland, posted June revenue of $5.1 million. The gambling venue offered 800 slot machines last month and no table games. Average daily gross gaming revenue amounted to $210.87 per unit.
