The gaming giant Playtech has appointed a new board member. Claire Milne was officially introduced as a new member on the list of independent Non-Executive directors. In addition, she is about to join several committees that match her expertise level – the Nominations Committee, the Risk and Compliance Committee, the Remuneration Committee to name a few.
Claire Milne has a vast experience in the eGaming and technology niche. She has been in the industry for more than 20 years and she was mainly focused on financial services and advising gaming.
Speaking of the previous career ventures of Mrs. Milne, she has never been a company board member before. She is an Isle of Man resident and she used to be a Chair of the Isle of Man Gambling Commission from 2007 to 2012. She also holds degrees from the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, and the University of Aberdeen.
Currently, she is a member of the Law Society of Scotland. She is also working as a team leader at the Appleby’s Isle of Man office. Last but not least, Mrs. Milne is a writer to Her Majesty’s Signet.
Mrs Milne is in charge of the e-gaming issues at Appleby. She has been also assisting the Oldford Group with legal advice since the company was acquired by Amaya Gaming. She is also supporting Tabcorp with company’s activity on the territory of the Isle of Man.
People with knowledge of the matter defined her as a key asset for Playtech’s board. Alan Jackson, the Chairman of Playtech’s board also commented on her appointment and said that Playtech was a renowned software provider famous on a global scale and therefore company’s board members had to be knowledgeable on matters such as eGaming law and technology development. In this regard, Milne’s experience was going to be beneficial for the further development of Playtech and the development of the evolving markets, in particular.
The appointment of Mrs. Milne comes just a month after the appointment of Francesco Rodano as the Chief Policy Officer of Playtech. Rodano used to work for the Italian online gambling regulator and he was overseeing the introduction of a great range of online gambling products on the Italian gambling market. As for his responsibilities at Playtech, Rodano is to take care of the legislative matters, establishes new relations with partners and maintains the existing ones.
