Lottomatica Enhances Retail Offering with Vermantia Content Management System

News

Provider of content for lottery, gaming, and sports betting operators Vermantia announced that it has launched a new system for retail content management across Italy’s BETTER betting shops. Here it is important to note that BETTER is a chain of retail betting venues, owned by major Italian lottery operator Lottomatica.

Following a migration process, Vermantia’s RETAIL broadcast services and point-of-sale technology have been deployed to help Lottomatica introduce the first-ever HD satellite channel to Italy’s gambling market. The major gambling operator now offers virtual gaming content by Inspired Gaming as well as two virtual games and live betting channels.

Among other services, Vermantia will broadcast channels adjusted specifically for the BETTER retail network. The channels in question include a live sports betting one, which is based on over 10,500 live events to take place over the course of a single year. Real-time data and statistics are to be delivered with Perform Group, known to be one of the leaders in the field.

Vermantia pointed out that the live sports betting channel features new user interface, designed in a manner that corresponds to the needs of Lottomatica gambling customers in the best possible manner.

Commenting on the latest announcement, Vermantia CEO Filippos Antonopoulos said in a statement that their Lottomatica project has been particularly challenging from “technical and time-to-market” perspective. Yet, the executive pointed out that they are all happy to have provided the BETTER brand with their solutions as thus their partner will be able to enhance and expand its offering.

According to Mr. Antonopoulos, live and virtual gaming products are ones that would have a fundamental role in retail gaming’s future growth.

Lottomatica Scommesse President and CEO Fabrizio Virtuani added that they are really satisfied with the launch of the new content as well as with the opportunity to work with Vermantia. The official further noted that Lottomatica’s gambling customers will now have access to uniquely engaging and entertaining experience, with the company thus “paving the way” for this new type of retail gambling offering in the Italian market.

Vermantia and Lottomatica first announced their partnership in March 2016. Lottomatica is part of the larger IGT group. An IGT-led consortium of gambling groups won in April the €770-million bid for the Italian Lotto concession.
