Las Vegas-based poker pro Chance Kornuth reached his career highest rank last week and is now taking 4th place with 2,827.41 points.
The player started 2016 with a seventh-place finish in the PCA $25,000 No-Limit High Roller 8-Handed. He scooped $192,780 of the prize pool and collected 280.12 GPI PoY points. Kornuth next cashed in three Aussie Millions Poker Championship tournaments. First, he received A$4,250 for finishing 8th in a A$1,200 No-Limit Hold’em Shot Clock Shootout event. Then, he scooped A$9,415 for his 9th place in a A$1,200 No-Limit Hold’em Six-Max tournament. Last, the player topped the field of the A$25,000 No-Limit Hold’em Challenge. His share of the overall prize pool totaled A$790,560. Kornuth’s three in-the-money finishes during the poker festival brought him a combined of 646.93 GPI PoY points.
During the EPT Season 12’s Dublin stop, the American poker pro finished runner-up to Italian Mustapha Kanit in the €25,750 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller 8-Handed for a payout of €360,150 and 269.83 points. A few months later, the player emerged victorious in another high roller tournament – the EPT Season 12 Grand Final €10,300 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller. He collected €351,108 for topping the prestigious tournament’s field. His victory also secured him with 478.20 points for his GPI Player of the Year score.
During the EPT Grand Final festival, Kornuth cashed in yet another event – the €2,150 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo 6-Max. The player took 2nd place in that one for €43,535 and 222.58 points.
Overall, Kornuth has 59 in-the-money results since the beginning of his poker career. The player has collected an overall of $4,463,763. He scooped his career best live cash early in 2015 when he finished 3rd in the PCA $10,000 Main Event for $641,140.
