
The single-day event guaranteed a prize pool of $15,000 but eventually there were $19,385 to be distributed to the top 8 finishers. Minimum payout amounted to $775. As many as 24 levels were paid throughout the day before Saxton was awarded the tournament trophy and the largest chunk of the prize pool.
Abe Reinhardt was the player to be busted on the money bubble. The player was eliminated by Evan Shaughnessy who was dominating the final table at that point. Domenic Olivo then hit the rail in 8th place, good for a payout of $775.
Mark Roberts took 7th place in the event after he could not make it against Shaughnessy. The player took home the amount of $892. Max Shuster was eliminated in 6th place by Elvis Palmeri. Shuster’s share of the prize pool totaled $1,086.
Michael O’Hallaran was the next to leave. He fell victim to Geoff Saxton. His fifth-place finish secured him with a payout of $1,396. Shaughnessy then busted Palmeri in 4th place. The latter collected a total of $1,880.
Saxton was the chip leader at the time three-handed play started. The three survivors agreed on a three-way deal. Each of them was to receive $4,000 of the prize pool. The remaining $1,356 and the tournament trophy were left to play for.
Ray LaRouech was the player to leave in 3rd place. The heads-up duel between Saxton and Shaughnessy then kicked off with the former holding a 2 to 1 chip lead against his last remaining opponent. It did not take long before the name of the winner was determined. On the last hand of play, Shaughnessy bet 80,000 and Saxton raised to 240,000 to see his opponent call. The two players checked it all the way to the river.
The [Ah][9d][3s][Jh][5c] ran out on the board. Saxton checked to see Shaughnessy move all in. Saxton called and tabled [Jd][Jc][10d][10h] for a set of Jacks. Shaughnessy turned over [5d][5s][6s][6d] for a set of fives, thus settling for the runner-up finish in the tournament.
