
German Fedor Holz has been topping the GPI for seven weeks now with a total of 4,727.64 points. He is followed by Jason Mercier with 4,346.90 points, Nick Petrangelo with 4,191.55 points, and Anthony Zinno with 4,041.85 points. As mentioned above, Peters has entered top 5 of the leaderboard this week.
Over the past several weeks, the Ohio-based poker player has won his first-ever WSOP gold bracelet and has topped the field of another major poker tournament.
Early in July, Peters emerged victorious in the Bellagio High Roller VII, a $25,000 high roller tournament, which secured him with a first-place prize of $393,120 and 439.16 points. A few days later, the player won his first WSOP gold piece for besting the field of the $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em event. His share of the prize money totaled $412,557 and he added 317.42 points to his GPI score.
Earlier this year, Peters finished runner-up to Bryn Kenney in the Aria High Roller XXIX for $146,463 and 302.76 GPI points. It could be said that his most notable achievement this year was his second-place finish in the debut WPT National Philippines $200,000 No-Limit Hold’em Triton Super High Roller Series. The player was runner-up to Fedor Holz in the super high roller event. Peters took home a payout of $2,309,000 for his deep run in the event. His second-place finish also secured him with 292.92 GPI points.
Late last year, the poker pro beat out the field of the Aria High Roller XXI for $426,240 in prize money and 324.64 points. His first place in the EPT Season 11 Malta €10,300 No-Limit Hold’em High Roller was another important achievement from last year. The player collected €597,000 for his victory and added 234.81 GPI points to his score.
Overall, Peters has cashed in as many as 154 poker tournaments since the beginning of his career and has collected more than $12 million in live tournament winnings. The player has also been quite profitable online and has won almost $5 million at the tables of the PokerStars and Full Tilt online poker rooms.
