Kevin Davis Wins 2016/17 WSOP Circuit $365 NoLimit Hold’em Turbo Event

$365 NoLimit Hold’em Turbo event that took place at Harrah’s in Cherokee, North Carolina kicked off on August 6th and attracted a total of 528 entrants who accumulated a prize pool amounting to $158,400. At the end, it was Kevin Davis who emerged victorious to collect the fourth Circuit ring in his career as well as the amount of $34,055 for his first place. He achieved the victory after a heads-up play against David Shaw who took the runner-up position and the amount of $21,056.

As for the champion Kevin Davis, he is a plumbing contractor, living in Louisville, Kentucky. He does not make a living playing poker, but he does his best to fit poker games in between his work and family duties. He travels to as many Circuit stops as possible and as a result, he secured a seat in the Global Casino Championship, which is scheduled to kick off on August 9th.

The winner said that he did not expect to be able to travel to as many Circuit stops as he wished, because of his busy schedule, but then the points he earned made him gain confidence and consider taking part in the championship.

Davis’ fans and friends call him the “Turbo Specialist”. He has won two Turbo events and made it to the final tables of another two. As for the $365 NoLimit Hold’em Turbo event Final Table, Davis came in second in chips. Aaron Thomas was the chip leader, but he took the 7th place and pocketed the amount of $5,061 for his efforts.

Davis managed to quickly eliminate Massimo Dirienzo, Josh Johnson and Michael Schmitt who occupied the 8th, 9th, and 10th place, respectively. Once these three players were sent home, Davis remained the chip leader till the end of the tourney.

Michial Drake took the 6th place as well as $6,542 of the accumulated prize pool. His elimination was followed by the elimination of Robert Russell and Thomas Larson, who occupied the 5th and the 4th place. Brian Gurley was the bronze medallist in the competition and his elimination gave the start of a heads-up play between Kevin Davis and David Shaw. Davis called Shaw’s all-in with [ad][2d]

and flopped two pair. Shaw did not improve and as a result, he became the runner-up in the competition.

The happy winner said his goal was to win a gold ring for each of his five children, so basically, there is just one ring left to fulfil his aim. For now, he is given the chance to earn the Casino Champion title and to secure a seat into the 2017 WSOP Global Casino Championship. The Harrah’s Cherokee Main Event winner also qualifies for the Global Casino Championship.
