Within the span of several years, Ivan Luca has won some of the world’s most prestigious poker titles, including a WSOP gold bracelet, and has become Argentina’s most profitable player of all time. The fact he is only 24 years old makes his poker accomplishments even more impressive.
After the GPI Player of the Year leaderboard was last updated on Wednesday, the Argentinian player is now taking 7th position with 2,992.47 points, gathered within an eight-month time span. This has been Luca’s best rank since the player first entered the widely popular poker ranking.
The young player has cashed in 21 different events this year, scooping a collective of more than $2 million in those. He has won three tournaments and has made a number of final table appearances. Luca was off to a good start of 2016, as he won one PCA tournament and appeared at the final tables of four others during the 2016 edition of the poker festival.
His most notable achievement during the PCA probably was his third-place finish in the $50,000 High Roller event. The player scooped $494,080 for his deep run, his best live cash so far. His third place in that particular tournament also secured him with 261.76 GPI PoY points.
Luca was seen at the tables of King’s Casino in Rozvadov during a stop on the Eureka Season 6 schedule. He actually won the €1,100 Main Event at the popular Czech casino, scooping €106,186 in prize money as well as 333.61 points.
A 2nd place in the Bellagio High Roller VII secured the Argentinian with a payout of $224,640 and 234.25 points for his GPI PoY score. Shortly after, the player finished 3rd in the Bellagio Cup XII $25,000 High Roller. His share of the overall prize pool totaled $117,600 and he also added 197.91 GPI PoY points.
Most recently, the player cashed in several EPT Season 13 Barcelona events and even won a €5,200 No-Limit Hold’em Turbo 6-Handed one for €90,670 and 302.39 GPI PoY points.
Over the course of his career, Luca has accumulated live tournament earnings of $4,053,049. His online profits exceed the $2-million mark. As mentioned above, Luca’s numerous poker achievements have turned him into Argentina’s most profitable poker player ever.
