Leading supplier of Virtual Sports content and other products for the international gambling industry Inspired Gaming announced that it has signed a memorandum of understanding with major Greek lottery and betting operator OPAP. Under their agreement, Inspired Gaming will provide the gambling company with its Virtual Sports offering both online and across its retail network.
Virtuals offering is expected to be launched across more than 4,500 OPAP shops around Greece early in 2017. The gambling operator said that the deal comes as part of its strategy to provide customers with a catalog of top-class products and services.
Rush Football 2, Rush Horses, and Rush Greyhounds will be the first Virtual Sports products to become available to OPAP customers. More content will be added gradually. The gambling operator will also provide customers with Inspired Gaming’s Mike Tyson boxing offering as well as the Virtual Basketball product featuring basketball legend Shaquille O’Neal once these are launched.
Commenting on the announcement, Inspired Gaming CEO Luke Alvarez said that the deal is extremely important for both his company and its partner as it will result in quality Virtual Sports offering being brought to the Greek market. The executive also added that the Virtuals content has already proved to be quite successful in several international markets and that they expect the same results in Greece.
OPAP Group CEO Damian Cope commented that they are pleased with the deal and that it represents the first step in the implementation of the company’s strategy to build a world-class portfolio for its gambling customers. With Inspired Gaming’s Virtual Sports being customer favorite in a number of European jurisdictions, Mr. Cope expressed confidence that the content will be found enjoyable by Greek players.
The executive also pointed out that more innovative products will be launched in the months to come as part of their 2020 Vision growth strategy.
This has not been the first time when OPAP has partnered Inspired Gaming. Last year, the two companies signed a contract for the provision of 3,960 video lottery terminals to the Greek market. The Greek lottery and gaming operator holds an exclusive license for the operation of 35,000 VLTs across the country.
