LeoVegas Receives Danish Gambling License

News

Mobile gambling operator LeoVegas announced that it has been a granted gaming license by the Danish gambling authority. The company will now be able to provide its products to Danish players, thus becoming the first mobile operator with operations in the local market.

LeoVegas games are expected to go live in the country this fall. A local team of industry experts with extensive knowledge of the Danish market will be in charge of the company’s operations there. However, LeoVegas pointed out that its entrance in Denmark will be conducted with no significant expansion of its current organization.

Apart from the recently granted Danish gaming market, LeoVegas also holds licenses by the Malta Gaming Authority and the UK Gambling Commission. The company considers expansion into regulated markets important part of its growth strategy. The operator’s growth ambitions are also based on leveraging its global brand through establishing local teams with experience in the field. According to LeoVegas, such an approach provides the best possible prospects for seamless launch and long-term success and profitability.

Commenting on the latest announcement, LeoVegas CEO and Co-Founder Gustaf Hagman said that it is really gratifying to see the company enter new markets. According to the executive, entrance into regulated markets and ones that are to be regulated soon is a winning concept for the mobile operator.

Of their upcoming launch in Denmark, Mr. Hagman said that he expects it to be successful when bearing in mind their product offering and the fact that there is no other purely mobile operator in the local market, combined with their data-driven marketing efforts and strong team with knowledge of the market.

Denmark re-regulated its gambling market in 2012, opening it for international companies. Since then, it has experienced a considerable growth and great interest. H2 Gaming Capital, the well-recognized gambling analysis firm, valued the Danish iGaming market at DKK4.6 billion in 2016.

Founded in 2011, LeoVegas is a Swedish provider of mobile gambling options. Up until recently, the company operated solely in the mobile casino segment. LeoVegas launched its sports betting product earlier this year, right ahead of UEFA Euro 2016.
