New Jersey Gambling Regulator Greenlights GameCo Skill-Based Gambling Machines

News

GameCo, Inc., known as the producer of the first skill-based video game gambling machines (VGM), has been granted the necessary approval by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to distribute its devices to three Atlantic City-based casinos.

All three properties are managed by major gambling operator Caesars Entertainment. Caesars, Harrah’s Resort and Bally’s Wild Wild West will be the first US casinos to feature the new generation of gambling machines. The VGM devices are expected to become available on the three casino floors next week.

Generally speaking, GameCo’s innovative product provides casino patrons with the chance to gamble while playing popular video games at the casino floor. Danger Arena will be the first skill-based game to become available to Caesars Entertainment’s Atlantic City gambling customers. More games will be added in future. All games to be featured on the VGM devices will determine players’ payouts based on their skills and performance.

The three casinos will roll out a total of 21 gaming positions. The devices will be installed in prominent, high-traffic locations so as to attract wider attention. As many as seven triple-unit carousels will be placed at the three properties. Caesars will feature three such units, and Harrah’s and Bally’s Wild Wild West will each see two of these installed at their premises.

Commenting on the latest announcement, GameCo CEO and Co-Founder Blaine Graboyes said in a statement that they are thrilled to be the pioneers in a worldwide effort to attract a new generation of gambling customers at brick-and-mortar casinos. Yet, the VGM creator believes that given the wide games range its devices will include, they will certainly appeal not only to the younger gambling demographic but also to other age groups of casino patrons.

New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement Director David Rebuck said that they have always been at the forefront of supporting innovation within the industry and that they are pleased the regulator’s joint work with GameCo has resulted in this innovative product becoming available at Atlantic City’ casinos before anywhere else in the US.

GameCo and Caesars Entertainment’s Atlantic City-based properties will celebrate the VGM launch with numerous events, involving both casino patrons and media. The VGM creator also plans to introduce its gaming machines to other jurisdictions in the months to come.
