The partypoker.net WPT Montreal C$3,850 Main Event is well under way at Playground Poker Club, with the third and last starting flight being completed Sunday night. Daniel Maor was the player to collect the most chips throughout Day 1C. He bagged and tagged 179,700 last night.

Maor has finished in the money in eight live tournaments over the past several years. His live winnings currently amount to $101,005. His in-the-money finishes include WSOP and WSOP Circuit events as well as a fifth-place finish in the HPT Lincoln $2,500 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event for $48,082.

However, the player will return for Day 2 of the tournament third in chips, with Day 1A and Day 1B chip leaders being slightly ahead of him. Day 1A was concluded with former WPT Champion Eric Afriat as the one to accumulate the biggest stack. The player won his WPT title back in 2014 for topping the field of the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Showdown $3,500 No-Limit Hold’em Championship. His victory brought him innumerous accolades and a first-place prize of $1,081,184.

Afriat will kick off Day 2 as the overall chip leader, followed by David Quang who scooped the largest stack on Day 1B.

The partypoker.net WPT Montreal C$3,850 Main Event drew a total of 648 entries who created a prize pool of C$2,199,960, exceeding the guaranteed amount of C$2 million. The winner is set to collect a nice first-place prize of C$425,980, including a $15,000 seat in the season-ending WPT Tournament of Champions. The victor will also see their name engraved on the WPT Champions Cup. The large trophy contains the names of all players to have ever won a WPT Main Tour Main Event over the tournament series’ history.

Aside from the winner, the top 81 finishers will receive a share of the prize pool. Min-cashes start at C$6,100.

Day 2 of the major tournament is scheduled to begin today at noon local time. Of all 648 entries, only 274 players will be marching towards Playground Poker Club to, all of them determined to make it through the day. The remaining hopefuls will play nine one-hour levels. Action will kick off with average chip stack of 71,000 chips or 59 big blinds.

The C$3,850 Main Event is set to be completed on Thursday, November 17. That will also put the end of the Playground Poker Fall Classic festival, the result from WPT’s collaboration with the Montreal-based gambling venue and online poker room partypoker.
