GameCo, known to be the creator of the world’s first skill-based gambling machines, has been licensed by popular film studio Paramount Pictures to develop games based on the latter’s blockbuster titles Mission: Impossible, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, and Paranormal Activity.
Headquartered in New York, GameCo has produced the first video game gambling machines to allure a new generation of gambling customers to casino floors. Generally speaking, the company’s VGMs are gaming cabinets that feature arcade-style games, with the latter offering patented design, requiring a certain amount of player skills, and delivering the exact same financial model as the slot machines casino patrons are accustomed to playing on.
The games offered by the VGM devices are adapted from popular console, desktop, and mobile developers. They are all played in a single-player mode and offer casino customers the chance to play for around 45-90 seconds per playing session and to win monetary prizes based on their skills and performance.
Under its deal with Paramount Pictures, GameCo is set to develop a racing game based on the Mission: Impossible franchise, a Paranormal Activity-themed hidden object product, and another gaming title based on the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off classic comedy.
Richmond Management Group brokered the deal on behalf of GameCo.
Commenting on the announcement, Paramount Pictures President of Worldwide Marketing Partnerships and Licensing LeeAnne Stables said that they have always been looking for ways to bring their iconic brands directly to fans. The official further noted that they believe GameCo’s products and the classic arcade formats they will be presented in will certainly bring their film properties to life.
GameCo CEO Blaine Graboyes added that they are thrilled with the chance to bring the popular brands to casino venues. According to the executive, video game gambling is among the largest opportunities for both operators and suppliers to grab the attention of the next generation of gambling customers.
Last month, GameCo received the necessary regulatory approval to provide its VGMs to Caesars Entertainment Corp.’s Atlantic City-based casinos, with those being Bally’s Wild Wild West, Caesars, and Harrah’s Resort. The gaming machine manufacturer had negotiated a deal to install 21 positions at the three venues, placing them in prominent locations where they would attract greater attention. GameCo is set to install its products in other jurisdictions in near future.
