Kara Scott is a familiar name in the poker community. The Canada-born poker player and presenter has over the years taken part in a number of major tournaments and has presented and hosted an even greater number of important poker-related events.
It became known a few days ago that Scott has embarked on her new poker adventure, this time with online poker room 888poker. Here it is important to note that she has been promoting the brand as an ambassador for a year now.
Scott has become the face of the poker operator’s latest promotional initiative – 888poker News. As part of its activities to secure wider brand awareness, 888poker has decided to monthly provide players and poker fans with a quick lookback at the events to have taken place over the past 30 days.
The online poker room uploaded its first monthly news video on its YouTube channel. The six-and-a-half-minute item features Scott as the anchorwoman presenting the latest news from 888poker and a cameo appearance by poker player Parker Talbot.
Talbot, who is better known as “tonkaaaP” in the online poker community, has recently joined the likes of Scott herself, Nicolau Villa-Lobos, and Dominik Nitsche as an ambassador of the online poker brand. The player talked about him joining the star-studded ambassadors roster as well as his recent American Poker Awards nomination.
Talbot has turned into a Twitch celebrity, using the streaming platform to reach poker audiences and share his online poker adventures with them. His efforts have clearly paid him well as the player is one of the contenders for the Twitch Streamer of the Year award at the upcoming American Poker Awards.
Turning back to Scott, as mentioned above, presenting and hosting has not been her only link to poker. She has appeared at the tables of a number of key poker tournaments. The player boasts live earnings of more than $650,000. It can be said that her best achievement was her 2nd place in the 2009 Paddy Power Irish Open €3,500 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event. Finishing runner-up to Sweden’s Christer Johansson, Scoot collected a payout of €312,600 ($413,612) of the tournament’s prize pool.
