The move comes shortly after Casino 36 opened a £7-million-plus property in Wolverhampton last year.
The Dudley project will encompass the relocation of the existing Castle Casino from Castle Hill to Castlegate Park and the establishment of a combined casino and bingo operation. The new gambling venue will be constructed over two floors.
The ground floor will feature a 450-seat bingo facility. Owners have pointed out that the bingo hall is planned to offer up to 14 sessions every week and will aim to provide fans of the popular game with relaxed and enjoyable experience. The Casino 36 bingo facility will be the next to open doors in Dudley after Mecca Bingo opened its own hall not long ago.
Casino 36 group General Manger Craig Dobson told local media that bingo has long been a player-favorite game, but has recently gained quite a lot of popularity among the generation of the twenty and thirty-somethings, a group that gambling operators have been looking for ways to draw to brick-and-mortar facilities. Millennials or Generation Y are reaching their spending prime and are gradually replacing the Generation X cohort as the world’s primary workforce.
The second floor will be occupied by a casino. The gambling facility will feature different table games, including the widely popular blackjack and roulette, as well as “the latest innovations in casino technology.” As mentioned above, the casino floor will be operated under a license previously issued to the Castle Casino operation.
Birmingham-based law firm Emms Gilmore Liberson was tasked with advising the casino operator on the requirements the latter had to meet in order to have its license relocated successfully.
Peter Adkins, regulatory team head at the firm, told media that the process of moving an existing casino license and the issuance of a new bingo license are two complex procedures and that they had worked very hard to ensure the process would be completed in as smooth manner as possible.
The Casino 36 project is yet to receive the necessary approval from local authorities in order for construction work to be able to commence. According to the operator behind the multi-million pound plan, the launch of the new gambling operation will bring economic boost to the area and will create multiple new jobs.
