The Aria Super High Roller Bowl, one of the biggest, hottest, most exciting poker events to be taking place throughout the year, is currently underway. Day 1 of the prestigious $300,000 buy-in tournament has been completed minutes ago and 44 players have retreated to their abodes to either have a good sleep after a long day of playing, or plan their strategy for Day 2.
Byron Kaverman, a poker pro of whom we expect nothing but fearlessness and fierceness, completed the Super High Roller Bowl’s first day as the chip leader. Over the course of seven levels played on Sunday at Aria Resort & Casino Las Vegas, the player converted his starting stack of 300,000 into a 1,247,000 one. King’s Casino Rozvadov CEO Leon Tsoukernik is second in the chip counts chart, calling it a day with 912,000 in chips. Fedor Holz, who finished runner-up to fellow countryman Rainer Kempe in last year’s Super High Roller Bowl, bagged and tagged the third biggest stack at the end of Day 1 of the tournament’s ongoing third edition.
This year, the Aria Super High Roller Bowl features a field of 56 entries, represented by some of poker’s finest professionals as well as by poker-loving entrepreneurs who can easily pay the $300,000 buy-in fee for the tournament. The event’s prize pool of $16.8 million will be split among the top seven finishers. Each of the seven finalists are guaranteed a minimum cash of $600,000. The winner will receive $6 million and a specially designed champion’s ring.
The Super High Roller Bowl’s former champions – Brian Rast and Rainer Kempe are still in contention, and so are notable poker pros Jason Mercier, Daniel Negreanu, and Dan Colman, among many other.
All of the participants in the major high roller event are quite accomplished in poker or in their other respective fields, and their actions at the Aria poker tables will be watched closely. However, there is a certain contender that has caught quite a lot of attention from the international poker community over the past several months.
Popular comedian Kevin Hart has taken part in some of the big poker events since the beginning of 2017 and has shown that he was not a stranger to poker. He recently joined PokerStars’ league of brand ambassadors, making a statement that he wants to change the game of poker by deploying approaches he usually uses in his acting career.
Hart has survived through Day 1 of the Super High Roller Bowl and although he did not manage to acquire more chips over the course of play, it is important to note that it was him to eliminate none other but fourteen-time WSOP gold bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth.
Aria Super High Roller Bowl Day 2 is slated to be played today, starting 1 pm local time.
