Online poker room PokerStars has recently signed Benjamin “Spraggy” Spragg and Fintan “EasyWithAces” Hand as the newest members of its Team PokerStars Online. The two players have joined a roster of seven fellow online poker pros, with the likes of Randy Lew, Jaime Staples, and Kevin Martin being several of them.

Spragg and Hand have appeared on the live poker circuit on a number of occasions, but they are both better known for their online endeavors. There is one more thing the two players have in common – their successful handling of social media as a means to manifest themselves as active members of the global poker community and to popularize the game of poker.

Here it is particularly important to note that both Spragg and Hand manage popular Twitch channels, streaming regularly while at online poker tables. Spragg’s Twitch channel boasts over 17,800 followers, while Hand currently has more than 18,100 followers on the popular live streaming video platform.

As PokerStars’ newest online ambassadors, the players will promote the brand via their Twitch channels. They will stream PokerStars-related content every weekday. Their first broadcast took place on July 18. To celebrate their new roles as poker ambassadors, Spragg and Hand kicked off the Twitch Micro Madness progressive super knockout tournament.

Commenting on the recent announcement, Hand said that he will make his membership in Team PokerStars Online something he will be proud of when looking back on it.

Spragg said in a statement that it will be his goal to help bring new players into the game and present them with the funny side of poker, just as he was presented to it back in the years. The player further noted that if he manages to achieve this, he will consider his job as a PokerStars ambassador a job well done.

The other members of Team PokerStars Online were keen to welcome the new additions, with Lex Veldhuis pointing out that the way Spragg and Hand stream resembles his own style and that makes it easy for him to relate. Jaime Staples added that the two players are “essential parts” of the poker broadcasting community.

Twitch started off as a video platform for gamers from all around the world. However, it gradually became popular among poker players who were keen to share poker-related video content with fellow players and fans of the game. Currently, a number of players maintain particularly popular channels and some of the world’s largest and most popular poker brands also use Twitch to stream events and related content.
