German poker pro Steffen Sontheimer has just added another high roller poker title to his portfolio less than a month after he topped the field of an Aria High Roller $25,000 buy-in tournament for $111,648.

Poker news outlet PokerFirma reported earlier today that Sontheimer has taken down the Poker EM €27,000 High Roller, which took place at Austria’s Casino Velden, for a first-place prize of €430,000. The player managed to defeat a field of 41 entries, which featured the likes of high roller meister Fedor Holz, who turned 24 the other day, Bertrand Grosspellier and Martin Kabrhel, among others.

The tournament generated a prize pool of €1,025,000, which was split among the final six players, min-cash starting from €54,000. Many would have loved to see Holz scoop yet another high roller title and add it to his formidable collection. However, that particular tournament was not his to win. In fact, the player also failed to make it to the paid positions.

Eventually, Sontheimer faced a player called Big K heads-up. The two players battled it out for some time, until the final hand saw Big K go all in on a [4s][Jh][9c][10h] board with [9h][7h] against Sontheimer’s [Jc][2c]. The river came [Jd], allowing the German poker pro to lock the victory. Big K received a €244,000 payout for his runner-up finish.

Sontheimer’s latest triumph brought his overall live tournament winnings to more than $3.3 million. A quick look at the player’s HendonMob profile shows that he has cashed in 23 live events over the course of his career. Most recently, he finished 6th in the Triton Super High Roller Series HK$1,000,000 Main Event, collecting HK$2,446,000 ($313,423) for his performance.

As mentioned above, the player took down an Aria High Roller tournament in early July and finished runner-up to his fellow countryman Ole Schemion in another such tournament, which took place in late June.

Sontheimer has been particularly active on the live poker scene since the beginning of 2017 and his efforts paid more than well, securing him with more than a half of his overall earnings.

Aria Resort and Casino in Las Vegas seems to have turned into a particularly favorite destination for Sontheimer, as he has taken part and cashed in several of its high roller tournaments to have taken place this year.

In late May, the player finished runner-up to another German poker pro – Christian Christner – in a $100,000 buy-in Aria Super High Roller for his largest cash so far. Sontheimer scooped the amount of $1,223,264 for his efforts.
