August is the month of easygoingness, of melting hot weather, of ice cubes clinking in glasses full of delicious drinks. And to many of those with severe travel-itch, August is that time of the year when they can finally appease that itch by hitting the road.

To celebrate August as many’s favorite month on the calendar, Casino News Daily has decided to present some of Europe’s long-time most popular gambling destinations.

Casino de Monte Carlo, Monte Carlo

The sun-kissed French Riviera was and still is a favorite place to Europe’s rulers and aristocrats as well as to artists and bohemians from all four corners of the world. And Monte Carlo, with atmosphere of utter elegance, has always been considered one of the Riviera’s jewels.

Home to one of the continent’s oldest operational casinos, the seaside resort is one of Europe’s must-see gambling destinations.

Casino de Monte-Carlo opened doors in 1863 and quickly turned into a top spot for gambling and entertainment. With its rich history, lavish décor, and variety of gambling offerings, it is not a surprise why it has managed to maintain its popularity and reputation.

A self-respecting gambling venue, Casino de Monte-Carlo features European roulette, English roulette, blackjack, Trente et Quarante, and Texas Hold’em tables as well as a huge number of slot machines. The different gaming options are located in separate halls. There are also gaming tables located at the Salle Blanche & Terrasse, which offers breathtaking views of the Riviera.

Portomaso Casino, St. Julian’s, Malta

In the context of gambling, many would associate Malta with its thriving iGaming industry. However, the sunny Mediterranean island nation is equally prepared to service those who prefer land-based casino experience.

Portomaso Casino has established itself as a favorite gambling spot both for locals and tourists from outside Malta. The gambling venue is located in the Portomaso Business Tower in the town of St. Julian’s. Here it is interesting to note that at 320 feet, the building is known to be Malta’s tallest building.

Portomaso Casino offers both table game and slot machine experience for players with different gaming preferences. The tables include variants of roulette, blackjack, and baccarat. Players can also choose their money stakes, depending on how much they are ready to spend during their casino gambling trip.

The building assumed its current casino role in the 2000s. King’s Casino Rozvadov, Czech Republic

The small village of Rozvadov, located on the Czech Republic’s German border, may not be a top choice when one plans their long-anticipated summer days off. However, if that one is an avid poker player, Rozvadov might well be at the top of their list of potential destinations.

Opened in 2003 by Czech entrepreneur and occasional poker player Leon Tsoukernik, King’s Casino Rozvadov has established itself as Europe’s most popular live poker spot. In fact, the casino currently homes the largest poker room on the continent, due to which it has hosted a number of very prestigious tournaments over the past several years.

Speaking of prestigious tournaments, the gambling venue will be host to the 2017 WSOP Europe this fall and of stop on the WSOP International Circuit calendar.

Aside from its poker tables, King’s Casino Rozvadov also features American roulette, blackjack, 5-card Caribbean poker, punto banco, and a number of other table games. The casino also hosts more than 100 slot machines.

Casinò di Campione d’Italia

Casinò di Campione was first opened in 1917 and was used during the First World War as a place where foreign diplomats were welcomed to confer precious information about the course of the war.

Nowadays, the building is used strictly for gambling purposes and entertainment. In 2007, Casinò di Campione was relocated to a new building and is now occupying an almost 600,000-square-foot site, thus being Europe’s largest casino.

The property features an immense variety of table games, including different roulette, baccarat, and blackjack variants, as well as poker. Different types of gaming machines (around 780 of them) can also be found on the casino’s first and second floors.
