
Miadzel emerged the victor from a field of 78 entries, of whom 62 unique players and 16 re-entries, to eventually pose with the gold ring.
The tournament’s entries generated a prize pool of €137,085, beating the originally promised guaranteed prize pool of €100,000. The top eight finishers, that is the final tablists, received a share of the money.
Here it is interesting to note that Phil Hellmuth, the holder of a record number of WSOP gold bracelets, was among the players to enter the high roller event. The player missed on the title as he was eliminated in 7th place, but still collected a payout amounting to €6,991. Hellmuth has arrived to King’s Casino in the Czech village of Rozvadov to take part in the upcoming WSOP Europe, which is slated to kick off on Monday.
The popular poker pro has been a frequent WSOP Europe participant. One of his gold bracelet actually came namely from the European edition of the world’s most popular live poker series. In 2012, Hellmuth remained the last man standing from a field of 420 entries to win the €10,450 Main Event and add the title to his impressive portfolio which also includes the 1989 WSOP Main Event title. Returning to the €2,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller, Miadzel survived through the tournament’s two days of play and through the tough final table that included Hellmuth and other highly competitive and skillful players to eventually capture the gold ring.
The Pole faced French poker pro Patrick Schuhl heads-up. Schuhl topped the field of a partypoker Grand Prix event this past spring and was vying for another poker title. However, the €2,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller title and the accompanying gold ring were not his to scoop. The player eventually collected €29,747 for his deep run.
Last night’s victory was Miadzel second ever. Back in 2013, the Polish player took down the EPT Season 10 Prague €1,650 Pot-Limit Omaha for €24,000.
