Gaming solutions provider Yggdrasil Gaming has debuted its casino content in the Czech gaming market through a previously announced partnership with local gambling operator Tipsport.
The launch of games with Tipsport marks Yggdrasil’s entry into yet another European regulated market. The Czech Republic reorganized its iGaming space in early 2017, when its new gambling law took effect to open the country to international operators and provide them with the opportunity to operate in a regulated environment.
According to gambling consultancy H2 Gambling Capital, the Czech gambling market generated revenue of €1.6 billion in 2018, with nearly a third of the overall figure coming from digital gaming and betting.
Yggdrasil and Tipsport, the Czech Republic’s leading gambling operator, first announced that they had signed a content deal in August 2018. Under the terms of their agreement, Yggdrasil’s portfolio of locally certified casino games are now live with Tipsport. Games like Valley of the Gods and the widely popular Vikings trilogy are now available to customers of the Czech operator.
Today’s announcement marks another important milestone for Yggdrasil and its expansion strategy, and enables the supplier’s Czech partner to boost its online gambling offering and further cement itself as the leading operator in the local market.
Focus on Regulated Markets
Commenting on their recent Czech launch, Yggdrasil CEO Fredrik Elmqvist said that the move has been an important milestone as they continue to implement their strategy for growing their presence in regulated markets.
Mr. Elmqvist added that Tipsport being the largest operator in the Czech Republic makes it the perfect partner for his company.
Tipsport’s Online Casino Director, Jiří Švarc, said that they are confident their customers will enjoy “the engaging and immersive content” that Yggdrasil provides.
Aside from its library of online casino titles, Yggdrasil will also supply its in-game promotional tool BOOST to its Czech partner. The tool enhances customer experience via in-game tournaments, missions, and prize drops, among others.
Earlier this month the supplier launched its content in the Spanish online gambling market through a partnership with Casino Barcelona Online. Of their long-anticipated entry into Spain, Mr. Elmqvist said that they are excited about the upcoming opportunities as the local market “has shown consistently strong growth and an increase in popularity over the last few years.”
Yggdrasil first announced that it would supply its content to Casino Barcelona Online last November. The online gaming provider will be able to further expand its Spanish presence through a recent partnership with the digital arm of Casino Gran Madrid. It is yet to be seen when Yggdrasil’s games with go live with that brand.
Spain and the Czech Republic were the latest of a series of regulated jurisdictions Yggdrasil has launched its content into in the past several years, with some of the other being the UK, Estonia, Latvia, Italy, Belgium, and Denmark.
