Inspired Entertainment Inc. announced Wednesday that it has entered into a five-year agreement with fellow provider of solutions for the iGaming industry SBTech to integrate its RGS casino content onto SBTech’s platform.
Once the integration is complete, clients of SBTech’s casino content platform will gain access to Inspired’s wide array of casino games and the company’s flagship product – on-demand Virtual Sports. SBTech currently serves more than 50 international online gambling operators.
The content integration will see titles such as Inspired’s Centurion, Book of the Irish, and 1st Down Slots, which is the first slots game that includes American football virtual clips, become available to SBTech’s numerous clients.
The recently signed deal extends the scope of Inspired’s existing relationship with SBTech, which currently involves distribution of Virtual Sports across multiple European markets.
News about Inspired’s latest content supply deal arrive just shortly after the company announced that it would purchase Gaming Technology Group (NTG) of Novomatic UK Ltd., the UK division of Austrian gambling company NOVOMATIC Group.
Inspired said that it would pay the EUR equivalent of $120 million for the gaming operation. The deal is slated to close in the third quarter of the year and to significantly expand Inspired’s presence in the UK gambling machine market, where it already supplies Category B2 and B3 gaming terminals to retail operators.
Bolstering Capabilities
Of their new five-year deal with SBTech, Inspired Vice President of Interactive Claire Osborne said that the company’s offering being integrated onto SBTech’s casino platform would further bolster their capability to offer top performing casino content.
Osborne added that SBTech’s award-winning technology has an extensive customer base and this would allow Inspired to increase its reach both in established and new markets.
The initial launch of Inspired’s RGS casino content is expected to happen this month in the UK. Expansion into New Jersey will follow shortly, the two companies said.
SBTech’s Chief Development Officer Andrew Cochrane pointed out that their partners’ players have found Inspired’s Virtual Sports extremely enjoyable, and that they are excited to expand their partnership with the company and integrate its casino product onto their platform.
Earlier this week, SBTech boasted expansion in the Nordics through a supply deal with Finland’s gambling monopoly, Veikkaus. Under the terms of the deal, the provider would power the operator’s retail betting network and online betting operations.
SBTech said that it has already begun integrating its betting platform technology into Veikkaus’ online channel. The operator will thus be able to launch its digital sportsbook in early 2020. The start of online operations will then be followed by the launch of SBTech’s product across Veikkaus’ retail betting network, which comprises more than 3,000 shops across Finland.
SBTech has also been looking to bolster its US expansion effort. The company is believed to be in advanced talks to be acquired by US sports betting and daily fantasy sports operator DraftKings. News about the potential deal first emerged late last month, but no further information on the topic has been released since then. If the transaction indeed takes place, DraftKings will secure itself with its own in-house sports betting and casino content platform that would help it cut costs and focus its attention on expanding across the US.
