Parx Casino Launches GAN-Powered Online Gambling Operation in New Jersey

News

Parx Casino in Bensalem, Pennsylvania has expanded its online gambling footprint with the recent launch of a digital online gambling operation in neighboring New Jersey.

Similarly to its iGaming operation in its home state, its product in the Garden State is powered by European gambling technology provider GAN.

Parx Casino has had quite a busy year. It entered the Pennsylvania sports betting mix this past January when it launched a temporary sportsbook. The property’s owner, Greenwood Gaming & Entertainment Inc., had partnered GAN and Kambi to power its online sports betting and gaming operations, which went live over the summer. Additionally, the gambling venue also launched in August its permanent retail sportsbook.

Parx Casino has apparently decided to capitalize on New Jersey’s growing online casino market as well as the state’s booming sports betting market where 85% of all bets are placed digitally.

In a market update today, GAN said that Parx Casino’s online gambling operation went live in New Jersey on Friday after successfully passing a three-day soft-launch period that was overseen by state regulators to ensure that it was all systems go.

Commenting on Parx Casino’s recent expansion in New Jersey, GAN Chief Executive Dermot Smurfit said today that “launching the largest casino in Pennsylvania online has now logically extended across the border into New Jersey.”

Mr. Smurfit added that:

“This represents an incremental revenue opportunity for GAN and is a logical extension of our technology infrastructure to serve Parx Casino patrons who routinely cross the invisible border between these two populous states.”

A Case Study in On-Time Delivery

Commenting on their partnership with GAN and the launch of their online gambling operation in New Jersey, Greenwood COO John Dixon said that their partner “has now ably demonstrated its abilities to serve our business needs in multiple states which aligns with the cross-border nature of our existing retail gaming customer base.”

Thanks to GAN’s integration framework, patrons of the land-based Parx Casino will be able to link their reward cards to their online accounts.

Further praising the company that will be powering their New Jersey operation, Mr. Dixon added that “GAN’s launch in New Jersey was a case study in on-time delivery and will enable Parx Casino’s patrons to gamble online in either Pennsylvania or New Jersey.

It is to be seen how quickly Parx Casino will manage to gain traction in New Jersey and whether it will be able to establish itself as one of the market leaders. In its home state, the casino’s online gaming operation is certainly among the leaders. In August, it reported revenue of $1.1 million on wagers of $53.1 million. In terms of revenue, it was only behind SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia, which generated $1.6 million that month.

As for its online sportsbook, it stood at the bottom of the monthly financial report for August with revenue of $611,000 on $6 million in total bets.
