The Netherlands is working on the full legalization of online betting in the country, with the Dutch Remote Gambling Act first introduced in the House of Representatives in 2014 and approved by the nation’s Upper House in February 2019. The bill is expected to come into effect in January 2021 with licensees permitted to go live from July 2021. However, due to the effects of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19), the launch may be delayed.
Currently, it is not illegal for Dutch players to gamble on international online casinos.
