Swintt is a Malta-based casino games developer that offers a wide range of online slots and recently ventured into the live casino segment.

The company was launched in 2018 as part of Glitnor Group, a major Europe- and Asia-focused online gambling operator and software provider.

Through a series of acquisitions of iGaming studios and content, it quickly built a formidable portfolio of titles. And thanks to multiple partnerships, its games are now available across some of the industry’s largest aggregation platforms and with a number of major casinos.

Although it is a relatively young content creator, it has some fine industry talent at all corporate levels. Many of its top executives boast decades of iGaming experience, which is always a great asset to have when kicking off a new business.

The company’s CEO, David Flynn, alone has nearly 20 years of iGaming management experience, with his career spanning over different roles at many of the industry’s giants, including Ongame, Microgaming, NYX Interactive, and more.

The studio focuses on delivering localized content for players in the growth markets that its operator partners are present in. It says that every piece in its games suite is the result of the right combination of local knowledge, data, and game mathematics and that it often uses local mathematicians and designers to make sure they get “the exact feeling of the game in the local market.”

If you’re eager to learn more about the company’s ethos and business strategy, you can read Mr. Flynn’s interview with LCB.org from a couple of years ago where he sheds more details about their work.

Important Partnerships

Swintt hit the ground running with a suite of 20 initial games that quickly expanded. Those original releases were the result of a local partnership the company had inked with a Central European land-based casino games maker that was interested in bringing its content online.

Partnerships and acquisition of studios…

… located in all corners of the world have been part of the company’s journey since day one and have massively contributed to its rapid growth.

In the development department, the games maker announced a strategic investment in India-based studio RNGplay to bolster its portfolio with a wide range of titles and its game-making capabilities with advanced self-scaling engines.

The company’s rapidly expanding portfolio quickly sparked the interest of some of the largest aggregation platforms. In late 2019, the games builder and provider sealed a landmark deal with EveryMatrix that paved the way for the integration of its entire games suite into its partner’s CasinoEngine aggregator, joining a collection of nearly 10,000 titles from a wide range of other suppliers.

A similar deal was penned with fast-growing iGaming platform United Remote in early 2020.

The games-making firm’s list of operator partners includes the likes of Videoslots, SuprNation’s brands, Wunderino, Rootz, and more.

The Games Portfolio

Swintt originally focused its attention and efforts into building a hefty slots portfolio with games standing out from the multitude of content available on the market. As mentioned above, the company was launched with 20 titles in its lobby and has never really stopped adding products.

Its slots library is split in two sections – one comprising its original “premium titles” and the other listing its newer games.

A quick look at both sections reveals a good variety of themes. The games provider covers pretty much everything from Asia-inspired content to thrilling adventures with unique characters and more traditional experiences such as fruit and gem slots.

Its suite can easily fit into every online casino’s lobby and appeal to a wide range of players from mere enthusiasts playing occasionally mostly for fun to real slots aficionados.

All of the company’s games are built using HTML5…

… which means that they can be accessed and played on any device via a web browser.

For the purposes of our article, we tried two of the developer’s slots – a premium one and one of its newer products – and are eager to share our opinion about these with our readers.

Master of Books

Master of Books was part of the company’s original batch of releases. The game is pretty standard in terms of experience and is not packed with a ton of exciting features, but still possesses enough qualities to be found enjoyable by some players.

It has a 5×3 grid that is styled as the cover of an old book. Action takes place against the backdrop of a library, with books lurking from all corners of the screen.

The slot’s graphics and accompanying sounds are pretty decent in terms of quality and represent the theme in the best possible manner. Still, we can’t say we are super impressed with the overall design of this title.

The paytable’s low values include the card symbols from 10 through A, all stylized to fit the theme. Players need at least three of a kind for a winning combination. The higher-paying symbols include a candle, an ink pot, an owl, and the master of books himself. Two matching symbols on a payline form a winning combination.

An old book of magic serves as the game’s Wild and Scatter and substitutes for all symbols during base game.

We should note that the game’s RTP is set at 94.4%, which is below average when compared to other more recent releases. In addition, it only features five paylines, which is rather disappointing and certainly makes the game less popular with experienced players.

Three Scatter symbols trigger the Free Spins (or Feature Games, as called in the game) feature and award 10 free spins. At the start of this mode, players will be asked to pick a Lucky Symbol. When it appears, it expands over the entire reel and pays out wins even if it’s not properly connected to a payline as long as the minimum number of combinations are hit.

The slot also comes with a Gamble feature that enables players to increase their win from a winning combo.

Master of Books is a simple and unpretentious game that can be pretty entertaining. However, don’t expect too much when it comes to its win potential.

Legendary

Legendary is part of the developer’s library of newer slots. The game sweeps players into an epic adventure in a fantasy world with brave warriors who fight for glory. Many will quickly spot the slot’s resemblance to iconic video game League of Legends.

This title is much richer in features and overall experience than the one we discussed above. The slot has a 5×4 grid and 1,024 winways and awards payouts from left to right symbol combinations. The symbols comprising the paytable fit perfectly the overall theme and add to the game’s heroic feel.

The low-paying ones include a vile of unknown potion, an enchanted book, and an ancient runestone. The premiums include a weapon, a blond warrior, a dragon-like creature, a helmeted warrior, a beautiful elf huntress, and a bearded warrior. The latter is the most generous of all regular symbols, paying 3,000x the bet for five of a kind.

The Wild is represented by a large L symbol, standing for the game’s logo. It substitutes for all regular symbols. It can only appear on reels 2 and 4 during base game. A special Bonus Wild symbol is added on reels 2, 3, and 4 during the bonus game. A bejeweled shield serves as the Scatter. It should also be noted that the Scatter pays out 15,000x for five of a kind.

If you land 3, 4, or 5 Scatters, you will trigger the Free Games feature and will be awarded 5, 10, or 20 free spins, respectively. During the Free Games mode, Bonus Wilds will appear on reels 2, 3, and 4 for a greater win potential. The game’s special feature can be retriggered.

From its graphics and design to its retriggerable Free Games feature and overall experience, Legendary is far more superior than Master of Books. And from what we have seen in the two games and several others in Swintt’s portfolio, we can say that the studio’s newer releases are more advanced and certainly more enjoyable. Yet, if you are a fan of classic slot experiences, you should certainly check out the company’s titles that are labeled as premium.

Leaping into Live Casino

After more than two years of focusing on developing slots content, the games maker announced in late 2020 that it would venture into the lucrative and fast-expanding live casino sector.

The company’s live dealer product, SwinttLive, is powered by Playgon and was crafted with the modern player in mind. It offers fast-paced action and a broad array of functionalities that enhance the players’ live casino experience.

SwinttLive was designed as a mobile-first product and as such, it is optimized for one-handed play in portrait mode. It came out equipped with online live dealer versions of some of the most popular casino table games, with those being:

  • American Roulette
  • European Roulette
  • Baccarat
  • Tiger Bonus Baccarat

The company also plans to add Blackjack and other game variants over time.

The two available Roulette games offer an uninterrupted view of the dealers, roulette wheel, ball, bets, results as well as of different trends and stats. Players can easily devise their strategy, place multiple bets, track their results, and review trends, while also staying focused on the game.

The two titles further come with save/customer as well as crown bets, La Partage and En Prison options as well as a multiplayer option.

The Baccarat game combines advanced technology with this traditional casino game’s main attributes. Multi-table betting and fast-action play are among this product’s most exciting attributes.

Tiger Bonus Baccarat takes no commission and features the highly popular Tiger Bonus side bet. It occurs when the Banker wins with a 7 consisting of three cards. This side bet pays 40:1, while a tie pays 8:1.

The live dealer product is globally available and offers a unified API integration that also includes the provider’s slots range and gamification and engagement tools.

Of SwinttLive, the game maker’s CCO, David Mann, said last year that this new state-of-the-art product would help them continue to provide their operator partners with the “very best in gaming content” and that its launch marked another big leap for the company in its effort to offer “a complete gaming solution that tailor-fits all of our partners’ needs.”

Gamification Tools

Somewhere along the way, the games developer also rolled out its SwinttGamify suite of gamification and promotional tools that were all built to increase player engagement and retention.

The toolbox includes Rich In-Game event scoring that unifies each player’s activity and experience and provides operators with information about all in-game events. Operators can use that information to incentivize their customers into a desired journey.

SwinttGamify also provides online casinos with the opportunity to up their CRM game through additional customer data points that they can use to unify their players’ in-game activities and external communication, interact with players, or send them relevant messages based on what rewards they are eligible to and on upcoming slots tournaments.

Speaking of tournaments, through the company’s gamification tools, customers can compete and interact with each other while playing their favorite game from the provider’s library. Casino players can join tournaments on the go, track their progress in real-time, collect various rewards, and stay up-to-date on any new tournaments set to take place.

An in-game Achievements and Missions widget provides casinos with the chance to deliver even greater experience by rewarding customers for their positive behaviors and interactions with various products. Achievements are split into two separate categories – Game Masteries and Challenges – and combine a variety of Sticky and always-on options that certainly enhance experience and engagement.

And finally, a rewards module enables players to browse through and claim available rewards and collect trophies and badges for their achievements.

As mentioned above, the company’s gamification tools are available via a single API integration that also includes its slots suite and newly launched live dealer proposition.

Final Thoughts

Swintt’s slots range is rich in variety of themes and experiences which always speaks volumes about the amount of effort a game-making company puts into building its library. In addition, the provider is open to innovation and diversity and the recent launch of its live dealer product is probably only the first big step toward a bigger goal of creating a wide-ranging, multi-product portfolio.

From what it has achieved in the short period of its existence in terms of content offered and supply deals inked, we can say that the company has clearly found the right path to success and we won’t be surprised if the industry soon begins to regard it as one of the big guys.
