Eight-five Bonus Poker is a Jacks-or-Better-style game with different awards for ranks of four of a kind. Read the complete table; it is not the same game as Bonus Poker Deluxe. In the standard eight-five schedule, a full house returns eight credits per credit wagered and a flush five. Four aces return eighty, four twos through fours forty, and other four-of-a-kind hands twenty-five. Two pair returns two, while a qualifying high pair returns one. The often-quoted theoretical return is about ninety-nine point one seven percent with optimal strategy and the specified royal-flush bonus. Changing a row or using a different strategy changes that figure. Consider ace, king, queen and jack of spades, plus a jack of diamonds. The published eight-five strategy keeps the four spades toward a royal, rather than the pair of jacks. The choice is based on the expected value of the complete draw, not simply whether the initial hand already pays. A full priority chart includes exceptions involving suits, gaps and discarded cards. Do not copy a short Jacks or Better chart and assume every close decision stays the same. Before Draw, verify the selected game, full-house and flush rows, special four-of-a-kind awards and Held markers. Awards are credits returned, not extra stake refunds. Keep the wager within your limit.
