Roulette betting limits tell you what the table will accept. Read the limit sign or game rules before buying chips or placing a bet. A chip's value is not the same as the minimum stake. Inside and outside bets can have different minimums and maximums. Here is an illustration, not a real casino's limit. Suppose chips are worth two dollars, and the table allows a fourteen-dollar inside minimum to be spread across several inside bets. Seven chips meet that aggregate minimum. If the outside minimum is fourteen dollars per bet, each separate outside wager needs seven chips. You cannot divide seven chips between two outside bets and assume both qualify. Check the maximum for each bet type. A table may also limit combined exposure to a single number. Overlapping inside bets can count together, so ask the dealer how that table applies its limits. A maximum payout is different from a maximum stake. Check whether a cap applies per bet, per spin, or to combined winnings, and whether the stated return includes the original stake. Increasing stakes after losses cannot bypass a table maximum. In an example with a one-hundred-dollar maximum per bet, doubling from two dollars reaches sixty-four dollars, then asks for one hundred and twenty-eight dollars. That next bet exceeds the limit. The earlier losing stakes would already total one hundred and twenty-six dollars. Doubling does not remove the house edge. A table limit is not a personal spending limit. Set your own budget, do not chase losses, and only wager what you can afford to lose.
