Inside bets cover individual numbers or small groups on the roulette number grid. Check the wheel type, chip value, minimum bet, and posted rules first. A straight-up bet covers one number and normally pays thirty-five to one. Place the chip inside the selected numbered square. A split covers two adjacent numbers and pays seventeen to one. Put the chip on their shared line. A street covers three numbers in one row and pays eleven to one. A corner covers four numbers that meet at one junction and pays eight to one. A six-line, also called a double street, covers two adjoining rows and pays five to one. These payout odds describe profit. On a winning one-dollar straight-up bet, thirty-five dollars is profit, and your original dollar also comes back: thirty-six dollars returned. On a winning one-dollar split, seventeen dollars is profit and eighteen dollars is returned in total. On a double-zero table, the five-number basket covers zero, double zero, one, two and three. It pays six to one. Its house edge is about seven point eight nine percent, compared with about five point two six percent for ordinary bets on a standard double-zero wheel. This basket is not available on a single-zero layout. Ask the dealer about its position and availability. Covering more numbers changes the chance of winning and the payout. It does not guarantee a win or remove the house edge. Place bets before betting closes, follow the table rules, and only wager what you can afford to lose.
