Editorial Policy and Fact-Checking

by CASINO NEWS daily

In short: Casino News Daily checks gambling facts against primary sources such as regulators, licence registers and operator terms, updates pages when laws, licences or brands change, marks closed casinos clearly, and corrects errors when readers report them. This page explains how that works.

Gambling information can affect people’s money and wellbeing, so we hold our reviews, guides and news to clear standards. This page sets out where our information comes from, how we check and update it, how we handle corrections, and how our commercial and sister-site relationships work. For how casino scores and listings are produced, see How Our Casino Listings and Reviews Work.

Where our information comes from

Research notebook and primary-source documents examined with a magnifying glass

We prefer primary sources and use them in this order:

  • Regulators and official registers: for example the UK Gambling Commission, the Malta Gaming Authority, iGaming Ontario and the AGCO, US state regulators such as the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, and national regulators in other markets. Licence numbers, licence status and enforcement actions are checked against these where possible.
  • Laws and official publications: legislation, government notices and court or regulator decisions, for country guides and legal news.
  • Operators and suppliers: a casino’s own terms, licence footer and closure notices; game developers’ published rules, paytables and RTP figures; payment providers’ own terms and fee pages.
  • Reputable news and industry reporting: used to confirm events such as acquisitions, rebrands and closures, ideally from more than one outlet.

When we cannot verify a figure, such as a game’s RTP, a fee or a licence number, we say so or describe it in general terms rather than publishing a number we cannot support.

What we check before publishing or updating

  • Legality and licensing: who operates a casino, which licences it holds, and where it may legally offer games. We note when a site is offshore or not licensed in a market, and we do not describe an unlicensed site as legal for players in a place where it is not.
  • Status: whether a casino, app, payment method or game is still available, has closed, or has been renamed or sold.
  • Odds and maths: house edges, payouts and probabilities in our game guides are checked by calculation, not copied from other sites.
  • Promotional language: claims such as “guaranteed”, “risk-free” or “the safest” are removed unless they can be supported. Bonus terms change often, so we point readers to the operator’s current terms.

How we keep pages up to date

Laws, licences and brands change, so we review existing pages as well as publishing new ones. Pages that attract the most readers and pages on fast-changing subjects, such as payment methods, mobile apps, US state laws and casino status, are reviewed first. When we update a page we correct outdated statements, add a short summary of the key facts at the top, and update the page’s modification date.

We use software tools, including AI-assisted research, to help find outdated statements across our archive. Changes are made against the sources described above, and readers can report anything we have missed.

Closed and renamed casinos

When a casino closes we keep its review online as an archive, because readers still search for it, but we mark it clearly as closed in the title and at the top of the page, give the closure date where it can be confirmed, and stop describing it as available. When a brand is renamed or sold we name the new brand or owner.

Section reviewers

Each section of the site has a named reviewer who checks its pages for accuracy and keeps them up to date: casino reviews, bonus pages, game guides, payment methods, country and legal guides, and software and slots pages. See who reviews what.

Corrections

Reader feedback, a correction pencil and an updated document

If you find an error, contact Jovana Vukovic at [email protected] or use our contact page, with the page address, the statement concerned and a link to a supporting source if you have one. We review reports and correct factual errors on the page. Significant corrections, such as a wrong licence, a closure or a change in legal status, are reflected in the page’s summary and title where relevant.

Commercial relationships and sister sites

Casino News Daily earns commission from some operators when readers sign up through our links. This does not change the facts we report: commercial relationships do not buy a licence description, a closure notice or the removal of a warning. See our affiliate disclosure.

Casino News Daily is published by LCB Network of Hong Kong, the independently owned group behind LatestCasinoBonuses (LCB.org). It is under common ownership with World Casino Directory and Wizard of Odds. Casino listings use shared LCB data, and our pages may cite or link to these sister sites. Such references should be read as coming from related sites, not as independent third-party endorsements.

Responsible gambling

Online gambling is for adults only (18+, or 21+ in the US and some other places) and only where it is legal. Gambling involves the risk of losing money and should never be treated as a way to earn income. Our pages point readers to deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion tools, and our responsible gambling page lists support services.
