Vegas Single Deck Blackjack GoldVegas Single Deck Blackjack Gold is an impressive virtual take on the standard hold card blackjack by Microgaming but with a few exceptions. As a single-hand game of 21, this is a fairly popular variation and it can be found at a large number of Microgaming casinos.

This version is a wonderful option for all fans of the American-style blackjack and the one that is adopted in Las Vegas, in particular. The release is part of the beautiful Gold Series by Microgaming and it boasts smooth animation, realistic gaming experience and a fast gameplay. Along with the many customization options, these bring the experience as close to the one in brick-and-mortar casinos as possible. At the same time, the game has a simple interface displaying all the buttons, panels and even the rules of the game on a single screen. The wide betting range allows all types of players, including high-rollers, to enjoy a fine blackjack play for as long as they wish. The table limits are from 1.00 to 200.00 credits and chips are available in the following denominations – 1.00, 5.00, 10.00, and 25.00 credits.

Gaming Experience

With Vegas Single Deck Blackjack Gold, developers at Microgaming are providing players with a great, authentic experience created through casino sound effects, realistic table angle and lovely animations of all the action. The traditional table in wood and green is also very nicely designed, with the cards being dealt in its middle. On top of the screen, we can see an illustration of the casino chips, along with the table limits. The rules of the game are displayed when we move the mouse over them. In the bottom half of the screen, the chips are located, as well as all buttons and controls.

The aim of the game is still to get a hand that totals 21 or to get closer to that number than the dealer, without going bust. When the bet is placed, players click on the Deal button and they are dealt two cards. The dealer also receives two cards, one face-up, the other face-down – peeking for blackjack is allowed if the exposed card is either a Ten or an Ace. Players have several options – to Hit, which means to take another card in order to form a blackjack or get closer to 21, to Stand, receiving no new cards with the hope that the current total will beat the dealer, or Double, so they can double their bet.

Specific Features

There are several specific rules and features gamblers should be aware of when playing Microgaming’s Vegas Single Deck Blackjack Gold. While most blackjack games are played with at least 4 decks of cards, this version uses a single deck which decreases the house edge significantly and makes it easier for players to win. And unlike most single-deck blackjack version, this one pays 3:2 for a blackjack. This comes at a cost, however, starting with the rule that Surrender is prohibited.

The dealer in this game hits on a soft 17 and stands on a hard 17 – soft 17 is called a hand which contains an Ace and at least one card for a total of 17. These hands can be counted as both 17 and 7, as the Ace has two values, of 1 and 11. All other hands totalling 17 are hard. Another rule in this variation is that players can double only when their initial hand totals a hard 9, 10, or 11. There are no restrictions on the doubling option, with the exception that it is not allowed after a split.

Splitting hands with 2 cards of the same value is allowed once, including for Aces, but in that case, only one card can be added to the Aces. The hands formed after a split cannot have a blackjack, which means that if one of the two hands after a split contains an Ace and a Ten, it is not a blackjack. Instead, it counts as 21. There is also insurance against dealer’s blackjack which pays 2:1. The other payouts are for blackjack (3:1) and the regular payout which is 1:1.

Players who have tried blackjack at land-based casinos will find no difficulties with the interface of this game as the buttons are standard, the layout is traditional, and the rules can be seen without opening a new screen or menu. This Vegas-style single-hand blackjack is a great game for new players who wish to practice their skills and some basic strategy while playing for real money. The low bets are also convenient for novices, but they need to remember that surrender is not allowed.

Vegas Single Deck Blackjack Gold is among the most entertaining and visually pleasing titles in Microgaming’s collection of blackjack games. This particular release also comes with a low house edge and an RTP of 99.69%.
