CND illustrated guide explaining a guide

Playtech’s Pai Gow Poker is a fine rendition of one of the more popular card games in brick-and-mortar casinos. The game’s interface is very clear and intuitive and makes for an interesting and enjoyable experience.

The Pai Gow Poker plays mostly by standard poker rules, though some key new mechanics are in play. The player and dealer are both dealt seven cards. The player selects two of them to create a hand, while the other five cards must also form a hand which is also stronger than the two-card hand. Standard poker hand categories apply, but check the game’s straight-ranking rule: where A-2-3-4-5 ranks second, that means second among straights, not the second-highest poker hand overall. The goal of the game is to have both hands higher than the dealer’s, while each party beating 1 hand returns bets. The game is played with a 53 card deck, adding a Wild Joker, which substitutes for other cards only when completing flushes and straights, and is otherwise an Ace.

Bets range from €0.1 to €300, while the House Way option arranges the seven cards into the two hands according to a preset rule. It does not guarantee a winning arrangement.
