Dragon’s Loot is the original five-reel, three-row, 25-payline slot from Microgaming. This guide covers the legacy game with a knight wild, green dragon scatter and castle symbols. It does not describe Dragon’s Loot Link & Win 4Tune or another similarly named release. Sister-site archives now catalogue the original title under Games Global.
The medieval setting brings together a maiden, castle, goblet, shield and playing-card ranks. The useful distinction is between regular line wins, the knight’s substitution function and the dragon-triggered feature. An archived screenshot is evidence of this edition’s rules, not proof that a particular casino currently offers it.

Reels, paylines and stake calculation
Regular symbols pay from left to right on selected paylines. The original interface lets the player choose lines and coins per line separately. Total stake equals active lines multiplied by coins per line multiplied by coin value.
For example, the archived game screen shows 25 lines, 10 coins per line and a 0.01 coin value. That is 250 coins, or 2.50 currency units, for the spin. The “BET 250” display is a coin count, not a 250-unit cash stake. With one coin on each of 25 lines at the same denomination, the stake would instead be 0.25 units.
Knight wild and dragon scatter
The knight appears on reels 2, 3 and 4 and substitutes for other symbols except the dragon scatter. It cannot replace a missing dragon to trigger the feature. The paytable gives no separate knight combination award.
Dragon scatters are evaluated anywhere on the reels rather than along a selected line. The original screen lists awards for two through five dragons and explicitly states that three or more trigger the Dragon’s Loot feature. Do not apply an ordinary symbol’s line-win calculation to the scatter award; check the scatter rules and displayed stake in the edition being played.
Original paytable and payout examples
The table below reproduces the regular-symbol schedule shown in the original help screen. These are line-bet multiples, not multiples of the whole 25-line stake. A zero means the displayed schedule has no award for that count. The goblet uses the same 25, 100 and 250 schedule as the shield for three, four and five of a kind. Five Aces or Kings pay 200, correcting the previously listed 250.
| Symbol | Two on a Payline | Three on a Payline | Four on a Payline | Five on a Payline |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | 0 | 5 | 20 | 100 |
| 10 | 0 | 5 | 20 | 100 |
| J | 0 | 10 | 25 | 150 |
| Q | 0 | 10 | 25 | 150 |
| K | 0 | 15 | 50 | 200 |
| A | 0 | 15 | 50 | 200 |
| Shield and Sword | 0 | 25 | 100 | 250 |
| The Castle | 4 | 35 | 200 | 500 |
| Maiden with Beer Pint | 5 | 75 | 1000 | 5000 |
At a 0.10-unit line stake, three castles at 35 times the line bet return 3.50 units. Five Aces at 200 times that line stake return 20 units. If all 25 lines are selected at 0.10 each, the spin costs 2.50 units: the five-Ace example is eight times that total stake, not 200 times it. These examples describe one qualifying line before any other awards.
The maiden’s five-symbol entry is 5,000 in the regular line schedule. It should not be presented as a fixed cash jackpot or an unconditional 5,000-coin maximum for the entire game. Denomination, line stake and feature rules affect the actual amount.
Dragon’s Loot feature
Three or more dragons trigger the feature. The sister-site description explains that the player chooses treasure to reveal free spins and a multiplier. The archived paytable confirms the trigger but does not show a complete feature-award schedule. Consequently, this guide does not promise a particular maximum number of spins or multiplier combination. Read the feature help in the actual game before relying on those limits.
The older interface also shows separate game and bank displays and an Expert control. Controls, autoplay availability, stake limits and presentation can differ between versions and jurisdictions. Do not assume the historical controls are available in a current browser release. A fast-play or autoplay option does not improve the probability of a winning combination.
Questions about the original Dragon’s Loot
Is this Dragon’s Loot Link & Win 4Tune?
No. This is the original Microgaming game with 25 selectable paylines and the knight wild. Similar titles must be checked separately.
Where can the knight wild appear?
On reels 2, 3 and 4. It substitutes for regular symbols but not for the dragon scatter.
Do two dragons trigger free spins?
No. Two dragons have an entry in the scatter payout schedule, but the feature trigger requires at least three.
Does the displayed bet of 250 mean 250 in cash?
Not in the inspected screenshot. It represents 250 coins at 0.01 each, giving a 2.50-unit stake.
What is the five-Ace award?
The original table shows 200 times the line stake, the same as five Kings. This is separate from the total amount staked across all active lines.
Does this review verify current casino availability or RTP?
No. The archive establishes the original game and its pictured schedule. It does not verify a current operator’s availability, configured return percentage or permitted payment methods. Check the exact game information and local restrictions separately.
