Inca Gold is a fantasy video slot with 5 reels and 20 paylines and it contains imagery inspired by the Inca civilization. This review covers the historical desktop edition from Microgaming and its controls allow play with up to 20 coins per line. The archived images below show how coin value, coins per line and active lines combine to form the stake. They do not establish current operator availability or betting limits.

Microgaming’s Inca Gold slot has visually appealing, but a bit dated graphics, which is to be expected from a game released back in 2006. It draws inspiration from the legend of the lost Inca gold which still captures the imagination of thousands of historians, tourists, and treasure hunters. The game has the classic structure of 5 reels, 3 rows of symbols and 20 adjustable paylines, which is common for many slots by Microgaming and other software developers. Along with the standard Wild and Scatter symbols, Inca Gold has prepared free spins, a bonus game, and a fixed five-priest award of 10,000 times the line stake.

Due to the wide variety of symbols, there are nearly 50 winning combinations in Inca Gold. The low-value icons are playing cards from Nine through Ace, while higher paying ones include a colorful macaw parrot, a red rattle, a temple, and a princess. While players need at least 3 matching symbols to get a payout in most cases, the temple and the Inca princess icons form winning combinations even they appear in pairs.

There are two special symbols in this game and the first one is the priest icon which serves as a Wild. It substitutes for all symbols, except for the Scatter, and helps complete winning combinations. In addition, it is the most lucrative icon as 5 Wild priests landing on an active payline pay 10,000 times the stake on that line.

The amulet symbol is a Scatter and 2 or more amulets falling anywhere on the reels give a payout, although it is much lower than the winnings from Wild combinations. However, this symbol is very exciting because it rewards the player the main bonus feature, as well as free spins.

Verified desktop screenshots and payout units

These original Microgaming screens show the five-reel, 20-line edition. The paytable and rules are retained together so the award numbers can be read with their stake units. In particular, four amulets pay 20 times the total stake, not 200 times.

The rules distinguish line wins from scatter wins: multiply a line award by the credits staked on that line, but multiply a scatter award by all credits staked on the spin. Ordinary line combinations run from left to right; scatters can appear anywhere. Only the highest win on each selected line is paid, wins on different selected lines are added, and scatter wins are added to line wins.

Worked stake and payout examples

The gameplay image shows a 0.01 coin denomination, 20 selected lines and 10 coins per line. The displayed BET of 200 is therefore 200 coins = 2.00 currency units, not a 200.00 cash stake. Each line costs 10 × 0.01 = 0.10 currency units.

At those settings, a qualifying three-princess line pays 25 × 10 = 250 coins, or 2.50 currency units. If it were the only win on the spin, the net result after the 2.00 total stake would be +0.50. Four amulet scatters instead pay 20 × 200 = 4,000 coins, or 40.00 currency units, before any separate line wins. Do not multiply that scatter award by the number of lines a second time.

The 10,000-unit five-priest line award would return 10,000 × 10 = 100,000 coins, or 1,000.00 currency units, at the same settings. On 20 equally staked lines that is 500 times the total stake. It is a fixed paytable award; the screenshots do not show a progressive jackpot meter. These are hypothetical outcomes calculated from the displayed rules, not wins shown in the screenshot.

Bonus Games and Features

The priest replaces other symbols except the amulet. A winning combination containing one or more substituting priests has its prize doubled. The wording is one doubling for the substitution rule; it does not say to apply another doubling for each additional priest.

Three or more amulet scatters start the Incan Pyramid feature and award five free spins. Choose a block at each level of the pyramid to reveal prizes or additional free spins. Reaching the top opens the Incan Treasure door; finding the treasure awards 150 times the triggering bet. If a level ends unsuccessfully, the rules award the accumulated prizes plus a consolation prize of twice the triggering bet.

Free spins run after the pyramid feature, using the triggering game’s lines and bet. Their prizes are doubled. Free spins cannot retrigger the feature, and their wins are added to the payline and scatter awards. The rule screen is the reference for this historical edition; do not transfer a different Inca-themed game’s features to it.

Inca Gold FAQs

Why is the BET meter 200 when the coin value is 0.01?

The meter counts coins: 20 lines times 10 coins per line. Multiplying those 200 coins by 0.01 converts the stake to 2.00 in the game’s currency.

Are four scattered amulets worth more than five?

No. The pictured table pays 20 times total stake for four and 100 times total stake for five. The former 200 figure for four amulets was a transcription error.

Does the pyramid replace the five free spins?

No. The five awarded spins are played after the pyramid selection ends, together with any extra spins collected there.

Can another bonus start during free spins?

The archived rules explicitly say that free spins cannot retrigger the feature. The existing free spins continue with the triggering bet and lines.

The earlier review quoted a 95.22% RTP, also listed by LCB, but the pictured game help does not verify that percentage or a volatility setting. Check the exact version’s information rather than treating that historical figure as a guarantee for another release.
