Explore Microgaming gamesIsland Style is a classic slot game by Microgaming that features a distinctly tropical theme. The game’s mascot is a toucan bird that also serves as a symbol.
This is a 3-reel game and as such it only comes with a single payline. The historical desktop edition uses one, two or three coins per spin. The screenshot below shows a coin value of 1.00 and three coins selected, making the total stake 3.00. Coin denominations and availability should be checked in the version offered by an operator; the archived image does not establish current betting limits.

Island Style is a classic slot in every sense and as such it does not do anything special with its symbols. There are no Wild, Scatter, or Bonus symbols, nor any special interactions with the available symbols. There are four symbols in total – the Cherry, the Bar, the Flower Bar, and the Toucan. Each symbol can form combinations and that is it. There is nothing special about them and what you see is what you get.
Bonus Rounds and Features
As a classic slot game Island Style does not come with any sort of bonus rounds or game-changing features. The game is made to be very simplistic and easy to understand. The paytable is located to the right of the screen and it details all of the possible winning combinations. Depending on how many coins you bet per spin, you will receive a different payout. The paytable is as follows:
| Symbol | 1 coin staked | 2 coins staked | 3 coins staked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Any One Cherry | 2 | 4 | 6 |
| Any Two Cherry | 5 | 10 | 15 |
| Any mixture of three Bar / Flower Bar symbols | 5 | 10 | 15 |
| 3x Bar | 10 | 20 | 30 |
| 3x Cherry | 20 | 40 | 60 |
| 3x Flower Bar | 50 | 100 | 150 |
| 3x Toucan | 800 | 1600 | 2400 |
Historical Island Style interface and rules
This review covers the three-reel Microgaming desktop game with a toucan, cherries and two kinds of Bar symbol. It does not describe another similarly named game or establish that the archived edition is currently available.

The instruction above the reels says that only the highest win is paid on the centre line. The displayed cherry rules therefore do not mean that a three-cherry result also collects separate one-cherry and two-cherry awards. Symbols outside the centre line do not form another active payline.
Worked payout examples
The paytable gives the number of coins returned. Multiply that award by the coin value to express it in the account’s currency. Do not multiply it by the total stake again: the selected column already accounts for the number of coins wagered.
Using the pictured setting of three coins at 1.00 each, a spin costs 3.00. Three plain Bars on the centre line return 30 coins, or 30.00, for a net result of 27.00 after the stake. Three Flower Bars return 150.00, a net result of 147.00. These are hypothetical outcomes at the pictured settings; the screenshot’s win display is 0.00.
Three toucans pay 800, 1,600 or 2,400 coins at one, two or three coins staked. At the pictured three-coin setting that is a return of 2,400.00 on a 3.00 stake: 800 times the total stake, not 2,400 times the total stake. All three columns scale proportionally; staking more coins increases the cost and the corresponding award, rather than proving better odds.
Island Style FAQs
Why does the paytable have three columns when there is one payline?
The columns show awards for staking one, two or three coins on the same centre line. They do not activate extra paylines.
Do two cherries have to start on the left reel?
The displayed rule is any two cherries on the centre line. Use the highest applicable cherry award; the table does not add the one-cherry award to it.
Is the 2,400-coin top award a progressive jackpot?
The pictured table shows a fixed award for three toucans at a three-coin stake, not a growing jackpot meter. Its currency value depends on the selected coin denomination.
Does a three-reel layout prove frequent wins or a particular RTP?
No. Reel count alone does not establish hit frequency or return to player. This screenshot does not provide an RTP figure, so no percentage is inferred from its paytable.
